Great A/T without the mileage and road performance hit

I have about 15,000 miles on these 2019 Expedition Heavy Tow. Have had several different BFG tires on my SUVs over the yrs. My Sequoia had Rugged Terrains before they were discontinued those we're heavier, louder and definitely not as smooth especially in cold temps. Then I put Advantage T/A on the Sequoia which were far better Highway tires but definitely missing sipping for really good snow performance but they were ok in snow. The new Trail Terrains definitely found the sweet spot between super heavy A/T and not enough A/T. They are way superior to the stock Hancook oem tire Ford had on the Expedition which was absolutely lousy in wet and snow. The Trail Terrains were only about 1mpg impact over the low rolling resistance OEM highway tires. But massively huge improvement in foul weather performance. By far my top favorite BFG so far. Very curious to see the new KO I had those on my Landcruiser years ago. Crazy heavy tires but super tough. Too much tire for my Ford Expedition needs.

Trail terrains on my CRV

Just bought these BF Goodrich Trail Terrain TA from my tire dealer. I first wanted all terrain but the sales guy said that trail terrains were better for my situation. I'm a nurse by trade and live in Northern NJ mountain area. It gets colder and snows more in the winter. I have to able to report to work no matter what was going on with the weather and I wanted to go on light trails and camping for leisure. First, I live the aggressive look on these tires. I have a 2019 CRV and wanted to make it look more rugged and these look fantastic on them with stock rims. It looks aggressive and ready for adventure. (See picture) On the pavement, stopping was good bit was not as good as my old highway tires but adequate in stopping. Cornering was nimble and precise. Road noise actually reduced with these and offered a quiet ride. I also noticed that it absorbed smaller bumps which made the ride quality smoother and gave a floatier feel. On in paved trails it is excellent. I pushed it pretty hard and these grab the trails really well. The trail was natural ground and fine gravel and these were able to hug the road as I take turns at 40-50 mph. I was extremely happy with this performance. These tires fit what I was looking for to a T. Excellent on snow and performed better on trails than I expected. It's backed with 60k limited warranty and I could not be happier with my purchase.

Love em so far.

Been running these for about 2 months, replacing the factory Wranglers that came on the truck when I bought it new. No winter weather here yet so I can't judge the performance there. But, so far I really like the tires. Low noise, good ride and handling. So far they also do well in rain. Good looks with just enough 'aggressiveness" to compliment the looks of my truck.

Looks great on 2024 Chevrolet Colorado Z71!

I switched out the OEM tires for these on my brand new 2024 Colorado Z71. What a huge improvement in both looks and performance. I would highly recommend these tires for anyone in the market for a slightly more aggressive tire than stock but still has good road manners.

BFG have outdone themselves!

These tires are fantastic! Previously had some crappy econo tires on our 2018 Chevy Silverado that caused us to have trouble on everything. Even struggled on grass. They were so bad they even led us to get stuck up to our bumper one time. They were also not very quiet, handled terribly, and wandered a lot on the highway. I should probably note that I am a massive car and tire enthusiast, so I definately needed a 3PMSF tire. I also reccommend anyone looking at tires to watch Tyre Reviews on youtube, very good channel, would love to see more of your tires on test there. Anyway, back on track. After we put on Trail Terrains we noticed an instant difference. Even on a steep gravel incline in 2wd and no weight in the rear, the tires didn't spin going up. Even after stopping, and giving it reasonable throttle. It also has been very good on snow and ice. Only slid once, and not very much, and that was on black ice. Very easily controllable and well balanced tire. Suprisingly well handling too! And quiet! We liked these tires so much we even put them on our 2012 Toyota Sienna minivan! We noticed the same improvements so far aswell. The only thing about these tires that has made me upset is the fact that they don't come in 235/55/R17 so I could put them on my Crown Victoria! (Please make them in 235/55/R17!)

Durability for rough roads and a lot of miles

Living in the mountains on a somewhat rocky dirt road necessitates a solid tire. I recently replaced my 2015 Outback that had 200k miles, with a new, used Outback Wilderness. It came with brand new 3 peak rated tires, but they just looked too much like a tire that lives on paved roads, so I chose to have my fairly used, over 34k mile, Trail-Terrain tires transferred to the new car instead of the brand new tires. The Trail-Terrain tires are looking way better at this milage than previous brands I've had. They have the right amount of off road ability that I need, and have the 3 peak rating, although there is no driving up my steep dirt road when there is snow. They now have 40k miles on them and I am amazed at the longevity compared to others in the class that I've had.

Good looking tire but hard to balance

Nice looking tire and they ride well, however they were hard to get balanced correctly. The tire shop I purchased from had to order two new tires to replace one that wouldn't balance out and one that wouldn't balance and also had radial pull. After a half day of working on them they finally got them to almost no vibration when driving. From 0 to 70 MPH they run smooth but at 75+ I can still feel a slight vibration. I can live with that. From a ride standpoint good. I replaced a set of Michelin highway tread tires so I was worried about the road noise but it isn't awful. The Michelin's were very quiet so I was spoiled. I don't have many miles on them yet so it remains to be seen how they hold up but I've always had good luck with BFG's so I expect them to workout.

K02 to Trail Terrain

K02's wore out, needed some new tires and went for a step down because road noise was getting terrible with the K02's. Silverado 1500 with the 275x65r18. I no longer wanted 10 ply tires, K02's are awesome, tough but man they are harsh and loud! Not terrible in town or on nice highways but country crap roads and terrible town roads they are annoying after a while. I can't say enough good about the Trail Terrains! So quiet! So smooth! Things I have notices so far, I went from 18MPG combined to 21MPG. Rolling resistance is almost not even there with the TT tires. Letting off the gas to slow down coming in to town where it turns to 35 I had it nailed with the K02's where I didn't have to use the brake, I let off the gas with the TT tires and I am still going 60Mph by the time I hit the 35Mph zone! Rumble strips in the middle of the road you hardly feel now. I tried every tire pressure on the K02's finding 55 front, 45 rear to be the most comfortable and least noise over the 3 years I drove on them. The TT tires have 34 PSI. The TT tires are 2 ply so the ride is so much smoother. Handling seems to be about the same, they just feel great. They don't look quite as good but they are nice looking tires and just so much better on the road.

California Super Storms 2023 / 3rd Gen 4Runner

Just spent 3 days in the Tahoe Basin with these tires. I wasn't sure how well they would do but I was utterly surprised. Long story told short.... I arrived in Tahoe after 11.5hrs of delays in the Sierras because of avalanches and accidents. (Typically a 4hr trip) Made it to our Tahow house at 4am. The streets were 2ft deep in fresh snow. We drove through this deep powder at 4am in the dark and getting stuck was NOT an option we cared to experience. Our 2001 Toyota 4Runner 4WD with CLD plowed slowly and surely. Stopped when we needed to and regained traction and continued on. The 2023 Super Storms in California were the perfect snow test. I highly recommend these tires. IG @calspeed
