Rock and Gravel Magnet

These tires came equipped on my 2011Ford Transit van. They drive just fine (when clean), the handling is fine (when clean). Unfortunately these tires have proven to be the worst tire I have ever experienced or seen for grabbing, and holding small rocks and gravel in it's tread, therefore becoming the noisiest ride I have ever encountered. All it takes is driving about on a typical town's roadways to fill up the tread with small rocks that will not disengage even at 60 mph highway speeds. I figured it to be a warranty issue, but the brilliant Ford dealer said that I should not drive on gravel with these tires. Now considering that asphalt accounts for almost all paved surfaces, and that the surface of that asphalt is GRAVEL, there is no way to avoid this situation. So much for a quiet ride the data sheet brags about. Ford will not swap for different tires, even under warranty. I will try to get Continental to swap them next, hopefully they will own up to their poor tread design. If I were shopping for tires, I would pass this model by.

Horrible Wear

I leased a 2016 Mercedes Benz C300 in Feb of 2017 that had these tires on it when i leased it . I have less than 18K miles on the car and i have to replace the tires. The tires have been rotated as per tire manufacturer specs and they still need to be replaced. I should not be changing tires on a car that has less than 20K miles.

Thank you for leaving a review of our tires. Although product use is excluded from the new vehicle tire warranty, we sent you an email offering assistance to you if the tires are evenly worn down to 2/32", with records of rotation every 6,000 miles. Unfortunately, we never received a reply. if you are still in need of assistance, we recommend replying to the email we sent to you on 2/12/2020.

terrible tread life

I have a Nissan 2009 Versa s with only 18800 miles on it and the tires are rated at 40000miles. I use it only for local driving since we use my wife's Altima to travel. this is totally un acceptable mileage. I have the car serviced and tires rotated as scheduled. this car also has tire pressure control.

Tread wear less than advertised

New 2011 Subaru outback, dealer oil chainges and tire rotations as recommended. Now at 35,000 miles all are uniformly needing replacement as I am on the wear indicators. The tires have been acceptable in Colorado driving but seems short in the mileage catagory for a not very "sticky" tire. I recommend if found at a fantastic price.

Great oem tires

I now have 69,934 miles on my 2010 Subaru Outback with original tires. 80% highway miles. They are rotated at 5,000 to max 10,000 miles and have been balanced 3times. I need to replace in the next 60 days and will probably get another set of Contiprocontact. Hoping to get another 70K.

Never again

I drive 18k miles per year on my 2018 chevy trax all highway and yes i rotate every 3k. I am on cruise control at 55mph for 90 % of the time. This is my second set of these tires in 3 years. They wear out so fast is silly. Going to the dealers is a joke. My next set will be Cooper Discoverer Duramax, compare them side by side and it's no contest.

Great overall tire

I am on my third set of Continental ProContacts and that statement pretty much sums it up. These tires are so good, I don't even consider another type for my car. My 2006 Fusion now has over 116K miles on it and they work great. Smooth and quiet ride, handles good in wet and dry conditions, great traction....I could go on and on, but simply, they are darn good tires that don't sock you in the wallet. How good are they? I am going to put a set on a 1976 Mercury Montego MX that I am restoring and the size I am going for has a whitewall design to fit the look of the car.

It doesn't get any better

Conti ProContact SSR (runflat) tires were original equipment on our 2007 BMW 328xit. Having bought Contis for over 35 years for cars and motorcycles, I was glad to see it. On the first set of tires we had comfort along with great performance (enhanced by the Sport Pack and a manual transmission), excellent fuel efficiancy and above all, a perfect fit with all-wheel-drive . In winter, it is not unusual to pass SUVs that are stuck in snow. Early 2010 saw some big snow fall on the East Coast and the tires were up to the task of getting us where we wanted to go. We never hesitated to head out in any kind of weather. This past Fall some long distance fishing trips were planned. While the tread, at +40,000 miles, was serviceable I decided to replace the Contis anyway. What a difference fresh rubber makes! So much so that I called the tire distributer to verify that I mounted the runflats (which can be a bit harsh) rather than the smoother riding non-runflat tires. They confirmed the proper tire (the SSR on the sidewall indicates the tire is a runflat). If you're holding on to tires to get the very last drop of tread out of them, just remember that fresh tires will make a large difference in ride (performance, too, I imagine). It did for us. I have given the highest marks in the ratings above. It was easy to do.

Bald tires at 30,000 Miles

I don't know what happened to the quality of Continental Tires but my tires wore completely out around 30,000 miles. Even after regular rotation and inflation checks they just don't last. On the upside they are very quiet on the road and provide good traction in wet conditions.
