Excellent tires

Just turned 50K miles on this set, and could not be more pleased. Snow, rain, dirt roads, highway travel.. This is a top performer. I have them rotated and balanced every 5k miles, and they continue to impress. When they need to be replaced, I will buy the same set. Thanks!

A/T means Asphalt Tire not All Terrain

The A/T 2 is not a tire for off road or even cutting a cross your yard. I have to put my truck in 4 wheel drive just to pull through my yard. I have been a Michelin man my whole life. I have Michelins on all my other cars (4). But if Michelin doesn't come out with the LTX M/S in the 275/65R20, I hate to say it I will NOT be buying Michelins for my F250 when these A/T 2's are worn out unless LTX M/S comes out in my size.

Michelin LTX A/T2

Purchased '06 GMC Sierra 2500HD 4wd Crew Cab 8-2014; previous owner had these tires installed 2-2013 @ 45,000 miles. Now, at 71,000 miles tires are cracking where tread meets sidewall; just above bead of rim @sidewall; and have cracks(some with small bulges) on sidewall. Truck has been mainly garaged; tires have been regularly wsahed/dressed with UV protectant, and air pressure regularly checked. Used for towing 8,000 lb travel trailer about 1,000 miles per year. So, after 38 months/26,000 miles; these tires are needing replacement, and I will definitely NOT put another set of these back on. 'Burn me once, shame on you'.

how long can a good thing last

we have a everyday driver its a 97 gmc sierra extended cab pickup. our first set of Michelins lasted 6 years and had some 60000 miles plus on them. we are very happy with the performance of the Michelin tire and purchased a second set for our pickup. we never had a flat or any other problems. we choose Michelin due to the high quality of the tire and trouble free miles. our experience with other tires is that they wear out below the advertised mileage. we also recommend Michelin to our children when they need new tires, we feel they are that safe to do so.

Newer Michelins get even better mileage

I just replaced my first set of Michelins with an even better riding, better mileage producing tire than the originals. You can't beat the ride, AND now I even see improvement in the MPGs too. Michelins just keep getting better. For a 12 year old SUV you would think it was brand new by the ride.

Long life

I have had three dualys all equipped with the LTX A/T2 235/80R17 tires. I always check for proper air pressure, balanced and aligned. So far my rear tires have 85,502 miles and they are still looking good. My truck is a 2016 GMC Denali. I tow a lot with this truck and the tires are very important.

Poor Longevity

These came on my brand new 2020 F350 DRW with the 17" wheels, I have bald tires in the rear at 4 months and 38k miles. VERY disappointed. I previously had these same tires on my 2017 F350 in the 20" setup, again, brand new truck right of the lot, I was getting an average of 76k miles out of 3 different sets, I couldn't have been happier with them; but this mess that I'm in right now isn't right, 38k miles in 4 months!

Really Great Tire.

This is a really great tire. I live in OH so I wanted something that could go into beast mode when it snowed and I got these tires literally a week or two before a big snow storm and they performed incredibly well. I was super impressed. They are a little noisy on the highway during normal driving conditions, but nothing too bothersome. Overall, a great tire!

Great on my Tundra

Went up to a 17" wheel on my 2005 Tundra but wanted the same speed readout so got the 265/65-17s and couldn't be happier. I don't do any serious off-roading so can't comment on that aspect, but they were as smooth as glass at 95mph on the freeway during an emergency run the the ER last week!

Immediate Improvement

My F250 came standard with "something else" on it. Not a bad tire, but they always seemed to drive "heavy." When I first drove off the lot with the Michelins on I could immediately feel the difference in how the truck drove, handled, and the drag was much less. I actually expect that my mileage will improve with the better tires. Michelin tires aren't cheap, but, if they continue with the quality I have experienced over the years, the extra expense is worth it.
