Great Tire

These came stock on my 2019 Veloster Turbo R-Spec when I bought it new last year. I'm right at 40,000 miles with 70% highway commute, 30% in town driving. The tires are at 3/32nds, well beyond the life I would expect from this type of tire. Regarding performance, read any review of the 2019 Veloster Turbo R-Spec and most, if not all will say these tires make the car great - and they're right. I'm shopping for another set as we speak.

Exceptional

Pilot Sport 255 40ZR17 who would put such a tire on an old 60 muscle car. So glad I did, I drive hard corner hard and this tire performance is Exceptional to any I have used in the past. Sure I have made suspension upgrades and hope to get some tack time in. I have logged over 6000 miles and I am impressed overall, quiet predictable ride and cornering, wet performance is not great but I knew that buying a tire like this. @ 140 mph + this tire is very smooth and predictable. Hard acceleration and braking grip is superior as well.

Awesome!

Just replaced the the P Zeros that came with my 2017 Porsche 911 Carrera with these tires. What a difference! Much better ride and they’re much quieter on all road surfaces. I do not track my car, so I can’t compare the two on the track. But I’m told that they handle as well if not better than the P Zeros.

Top Performance

I bought these these tires for a new set of rims that are on my BMW M2 Competition. The tire performance of the 4S is improved over the OEM Pilot Sports. The driving dynamics and stability at the track exceeded expectations. Excellent wear characteristics with good feedback.

225/19 from France 255/19 from USA

Service Adviser had to explore several distributors before he could find staggered set for my M3. We both got a chuckle when we discovered the front tires were from France and the Rear Tires were from the USA. Happy with the sidewall aesthetics. First ten miles have been fine @ 55F Of course wouldn't you know that I change my summer tires and now we have snow on the way to South. Winters late hurrah 2017

Stones stick in the tread and damage the tires

I replaced the tires with the All Season verison after 75 miles. Tires pick up small stones and the stones leave holes in the tread when removed. The all season version don't pick up stones and are perfect for street driving. These are track tires and shouldn't be sold for street use.

Good tires but very NOISY at freeway speed

Overall very good tires in temrs of handling The previous version of the Pilot 4S was a much better tire (it was not noisy on the freeway), but it is discontinued or I would have bought it. The Pilot Sport 4S is very noisy at freeway speeds, and annoying. Would not purchase again.

Not for street driving

Those tire came with the car, 2022 tesla models with Pilot sport 4s 265/35zr21 in front and Pilot sport 4s 295/30zr21 in the rear. I had a buldge on the side wall of the front right tire so I went to the dealer. Since I used them for one summer, he couldn't just change one, So i change the four of them for the same ones. Litterally the day after, I hit a pretty small pothole, front and rear tire on the right side showed tear and bubbles on the side walls!

Best Tires Ever!

I cannot describe enough how these tires make my 2019 Dodge Charger 392 Scat Pack drive. They belong on this car from the factory, but I am happy to see and feel the difference now! These tires run perfectly over the imperfections in the road, handle very crisply on turns and acceleration, but the most important to me is the steering response. The wheel input is immediately translated into the tire to the road and that to me is the best feature. These tire could only last 10k miles and I would buy them again and again. Thank you Michelin for the best tire for my car ever.

Surprising Failures

I've been a solid Michelin tire fan for almost 9 years. They are the only brand I've really come to trust. But now, I'm starting to lose that trust. I've been running Pilot Super Sports since early 2012, buying both Super Sports for summer & had a set of their All Seasons for winter, going to the Pilot® Sport A/S 3+ in 2016. ALL of their tires performed flawlessly, with great handling, a nice "feel", & long life. Then, even though I had a fairly new set of PSS's, the PS4's came out, so I got a set & had them mounted up & put them on. But now, with under 15,000 miles of use, and 6 to 7 32'nds of tread still there, there are problems. My shop guy who rotates my tires every 3/4 months is telling me that the bands inside 3 of the 4 tires are separating. He's shown me the tires & the uneven surface is easy to see. I haven't felt anything odd or heard any strange sounds though. I'm absolutely baffled by this as I've never any issues with a Michelin tire before. I don't know if it's just a bad set, or a deeper issue. Having read another review here mentioning the same kind of issue, it could be either one, or both. I love Michelin, but am not sure what to make of this.
