used to be better

I buy this mix almost weekly for my daughter’s Guinea pig. Recently, there are far more stems and lettuce leaves left in the cage — the Guinea pig won’t even eat some of the pieces that are included the package. If it’s not fit for an animal that loves fresh veggies, I wouldn’t recommend it for humans either. Back to the romaine…

Usually very good quality and cheap

I use this and romaine to make a big salad for pizza night at my house and its usually very good but often theres way too much baby spinach in it. It seems to be used as a reliable filler. I dont mind it when theres a little but spinach to me is tough and leathery and not the light crisp crunch you want in salad.

last few times: 1/3-1/2 rotted

Not sure if it's a logistics/transport problem or if store teams allow bins to sit outside or in warm warehouses, but the last few times (in summer) that we've purchased these bins, we've had to discard at least 1/3 or more of the greens - all rotted. Pretty gross. You can't tell from the top....the rotted stuff is in the middle/bottom. If it was just once, no big deal...but it happens too often. These cost too much to lose so much product.

good if it would last

For a hot second Sam’s Club carried lettuce without the red leaves and it lasted a lot longer. In this blend the red leaves rot in days and ruin the whole container of lettuce with brown juice. I try to cut up my own now, but if I need to buy quick I dump it all out and remove the red leaves. I don’t even know why they’re in there.

best spring mix around

I buy this every week for my eatery and I have bought spring mix at other restaurant supply stores in the area, and hands down, this is the best place to get a decent spring mix. Usually it is in good condition, but for the last couple weeks it has been bad. must be the time of year.

BAD PRODUCT

I purchased this product before and didn't notice any irregularities. The packaging does suck. I utilized the pickup option for groceries. When I got the spring mix home, most of the mix leaves were yellow or brown. Had to throw it away. Purchased 7/8 with use by 7/11. I like the pickup option, but I don't think the associates know how to shop.

OK-ish in a pinch, use lots of dressing

Tastes like dirt or dusty, but no grit, thankfully. I just put on more dressing and added a strongly flavoured meat to hide the taste of the greens. I got this because my club happened to be out of my household's favoured salad mix, Southwest. Might just go with the bagged Caesar instead next time.

gotten horrible

My family usually loves these salads as they’re very reliable and fresh. However, the past year or 2 has been hit or miss. They’ve begun overwhelmingly stuffing them with spinach and EXTREMELY BITTER leaves (these leaves have jagged edges and are inedible) and tons of arugula which overpowers the salads in a not so good of a flavor. We have had to throw out hundreds of dollars of lettuce because it truly is inedible with the bitter leaves. Please bring back just what a spring mix used to be with the purple and green refreshing leaves, not this bitter stuff that no one likes!!!!

Usually great

Most of the time the packages are pretty fresh, and give me several days before they start going bad. there have been a few times I've gotten one's very close to the expiration date that have went bad faster. That's just the convenience of the pickup, not picking out your own produce. But for the price even if you can only use half of this mix it's worth it. Very good quality, light crisp lettuce.

Cilantro kept appearing within the salad!!

We used to love the Organic Baby Spring Mix but recently they added (mistakenly?) cilantro in the packages but cilantro was NOT listed in the ingredient. It was not a one-time issue as we experienced this extra ingredient for the past few purchases. Disappointed because cilantro gave out strong flavors that ruined the rest of the spring mix. Please remove this wrong ingredient or list it so the consumers are informed!
