After good brine, this turkey was a Hut at Thanksgiving.

I just picked this turkey up for our Thanksgiving in 30 hours. It’s frozen…. I assumed it was fresh. I was misled by the title “Raw Turkey”. I guess I never saw a turkey advertised as “Raw” Very disappointed to drive 30 miles just to get a frozen turkey that I could get 2 miles away at Pick n Save.

That's exactly where this turkey ended up. I made the mistake of buy 2 of these turkeys instead of the brand I have been buying for the past 30 years. Big mistake. After brining and baking as usual I ended up with dry, rubbery, tasteless turkey. Totally inedible. How embarrassing that my 12 guests couldn't eat the turkey. I demand a refund!

Wow, Nice to see we were not alone in our Turkey Misery! Looks like many others have already described the problems with this turkey, stringy, tasteless, inedible! YES...we took a couple of bites and put the rest out in the trash. Disappointed? Well, considering the Turkey is supposed to be the centerpiece of the Thanksgiving meal and this is what you sold us, yeah you can say we are disappointed. Now I know how the family in the Christmas Story movie felt the dogs ruined their turkey and they had to go out to a restaurant.

Chewy and tough

I always bought HEB fresh turkeys and over the years got more disappointed so I decided to get the Sam's all natural and was amazed at how wonderful it was. They brine with 3%water and sea salt so results is a supper moist turkey and browns to a beautiful golden brown. No more other store ones for me. I even cooked it a little to long still great will adjust my timing.

I know how to cook. Baked this yesterday for an early thanksgiving dinner. How embarrassing. Cooked under 3 hours 11 pounds. I followed directions, buttered it up, olive oil, stock, onion, garlic, it smelled so good. Couldn't even eat it without choking. Left it for the wildlife not sure if they will even touch it. So we had a meatless dinner.

Bought this yesterday, 14lbs cooked today - came out great. Like that there are no hormones. Cut 1 stick of butter into long smaller sticks and put under the skin > put in 500F oven and lowered heat to 350F internal temp was 165 after 2.5 hours. Recommend and hope it works out for you.
