you can't really clean it

I am on my second nutribullet (first one died days after the warrantee ended.) I never noticed before but there is so much gunk in the washers under the blade and you CANNOT clean it. I have tried a child's toothbrush, floss. IT is just impossible to get in there and it's gross. Bad design. Won't buy another.

Handy Enough But HARD to clean

I've had mine for about 2yrs -- maybe 3, so it has a long life. But my main issue with it is that it is hard to clean. If I was blending something like celery, or any really fiberous or stringy vegetable or adding some kind or green powder to my smoothie, it was always really hard to clean the particles out of the grooves of the rim of the cup that screw into the blending lid or the to go lid, as well as the grooves in the to-go lid and gray part that housed the blending blades. It's hard to find anything short of a toothbrush --- and it would have to be a very stiff-bristled brush at that, to dislodge the food residue. And as I said, if the veggies/fruit were green, the gunk in the grooves was VERY apparent. No matter how well I cleaned or rinsed the parts out, I always felt that it wasn't clean enough and feared bacteria was growing in the grooves of the cup and the lip, so I added just a TAD of bleach to the water, and that didn't help as far as helping with the stains. Plus, after awhile, the sides of the cup started looking scratched as if I'd used a brillow pad to clean the inside of it, though I'd only ever used a sponge or washcloth. Now the entire cup looks dirty, even when it's clean. The area where the blades attach to the bottom of the gray plastic they're lodged in --- I can't tell if it's rust or just the accumulation of food residue that I could never completely wash off. Something needs to be altered with the design of the cup and lids so that food doesn't get stuck in the grooves so that bacteria can't grow in them. Also, more times than I can count, the lid would loosen while I was blending, even though I double-checked to make sure it was on tight before I turned the machine on, and liquid would leak out of the cup while I was doing something else as it was blending, and when I came back and turned off the machine and took the cup out of the housing base, there would be liquid that had seeped all down the holes at the bottom, and into the mechanism within the base and leak out the bottom. I'm surprised it's still running after all the times this has happened and has not caught on fire. So I give this an average rating for functionality --- in theory --- but the design desires something to be desired in terms of ease of cleaning and sanitary function.

Love my New NutriBullet

I purchased this for a Christmas present to myself. I had an older model and wanted to upgrade. My older model went to a family member. I love that this unit does great smoothies for me in the morning and I get all my fruit and veggies in one big cup. Thank you for a wonderful product.

Nurse Sharon

I love it!!! Makes smoothies so fast and correctly. The ice is blended down right with no big pieces of ice left. So easy to clean. I drink right out of the blender cup with a straw. Looks nice on countertop in kitchen with not taking up too much room. Most of these types of Kitchen items are used for a short period of time and then put up. I am sure my Nutribullet will be used and is a smart investment for me.

More powerful

I have had a nutribullet 600 watt for years. I decided to upgrade to the 900 watt. I am not sure that I am happy that I did. It is very loud! It does not seem to work any better than the 600. I am not sure that it should be so loud. I still like the nutribullet concept but think I would stay with the 600.

Terrible!

I absolutely loved this blender when I firs bought it. I bought this nutri bullet 3 years ago. I am highly dissatisfied and very dissapointed as after about 2 and a half years my nutribullet stopped working. I didn't use it too often to easily wear it out like that but then the motors started to burn out and stopped working. Also when i press the cup down and twist to run sometimes the smoothie spills out through the cup as the seal was bad. Now my nutribullet doesn't even work at all and hasn't been working for months. I am highly dissapointed and frustrated. I love making smoothies and I haven't been able to make smoothies for a few months now due to the fact that my nutribullet isn't working well!!! This is irate and utterly dissappointing!!

Powerful but less than optimum

I bought this primarily to make protein shakes and other drinks. It is very powerful and easy to use but it has several less than optimum features such as: 1. The cup does not have measurement marks. 2: The blender portion has a deep recess that is very difficult to clean instead of a flat mating surface o-ring. 3. The drinking lids thread into the inside of the cup so when the lid is attached you have another surface to catch material and if you want to subcool the mixture that will freeze to a tight seal.

1st Base Lasted a Year, 2nd MAYBE 6 Mos

1st base unit was a BEAST, lasting a year+ before it started smelling like something was burning inside (still runs, but I'm not taking any chances). 2nd base unit sees equal use, but isn't going to make it to 6mos - motor overheats every use and auto-shuts off before blending is complete. I'm really sad 2nd purchase was inferior to 1st. Will be researching competitive products before making my replacement purchase =(

Excellent except leaking problem

This is my 3rd one, I have been very satisfied except leaking problem. The nuts in the bottom was not tight enough to prevent from leaking, and mine started to leak after one month of usage, which is very disappointing. So I am waiting for replacement with report to their website, but there is no response at all. I think it is not good service to royal customers who used the products about 10 years.

Short lifespan

I bought my nutribullet almost a year ago, and it seems to have lasted longer than many I am reading about. But like these reviews, mine too started leaking. So I started using the bigger cup, thinking I was simply overfilling the small one. I thought the problem was solved, but now the blades are almost impossible to engage. When I am able to get it going, the unit doesn't want to turn off. I have to unplug it. I will attempt to contact customer service, but I do not have time to play tag with them. I simply will not buy another one. Nor will I recommend this to anyone. Very disappointed.
