Purchase 4 Roku Ultras a month ago to replace Dish TV and Joeys and have been extremely pleased. Picture and sound clarity are super. Operation is intuitive and on-line support is great. So much easier to use than other and universal remotes. Had to resubscribe to programming nut once linked all functions smoothly. Have the same and increased our programming and still saving money monthly.

I have used Roku for years. I recently upgraded to Sony Bravia OLED tv with expectation I’d download the apps onto the tv. The tv based apps were clunky and did not perform up to my expectations with such an expensive tv. I went back with new Roku and am Totally satisfied.

It's nice not having batteries in the remote and being able to talk to the device. However, when you navigate, using the remote (not hands free), it locks up every now and then and you have to go back to home and start again. Also, it would be nice to have a little grip on the remote. Without the batteries, it's a little hard to hold on to.

My wifi was not giving me the performance I wanted. The ethernet hookup has provided me with a faster more reliable internet connection. The ROKU Ultra provided what I wanted. I didn't care about the headphones. They do not have the best sound quality. If you need headphones look elsewhere. No backlight on the remote is very disappointing. I would not have upgraded if my wyfy connection did the job.

Love the features, clarity, speed, battery recharger and voice commands of the Roku. One complaint is the buttons on the actual remote are very finicky. For example when you click on the volume once. It responds as though you clicked it two, three or even four or five times. This is true for several of the buttons. Very annoying and grow more irritating every day.

Let me start by saying that I have about 8 different Rokus, and I really enjoy them all. I recently wanted to upgrade to another Ultra, so I did and was enjoying it, until one night my tv volume suddenly went all the way up to 100, besides scaring the heck out of me, I didn't know what was going on. So after checking everything from my tv remote itself to the roku one, to unplugging everything and replugging everything, it was just crazy. Come to find out it was the roku itself, and since the batteries are rechargeable ( which I thought I would love ) I couldn't just take the batteries out to try an reset it. Anyway it just kept doing it over an over so unfortunately I returned it and am hesitant to buy another. I love the ultra best, but I am not happy about the rechargeable batteries and the way it just went bonkers on me. It even raised the volume up to the max on another tv as i walked into the room. Like I said I have multiples of these roku’s, but am now hesitant of the newer technology.

I bought this unit for its ability to play 60fps 4K videos and it does that very well. Aso it is fast and responsive... But, I wish it could adjust closed captions, both color, font and size that would override content *all the time* like an Apple 4K TV does. The settings work for some content and not others that only show subtitles as delivered by source or streaming app. I also wish the app menu was not so scrunched up into three rows only and not stretched out wider so all the most used apps can be seen on one screen without scrolling up and down, still one can get used to that easily...

There have been countless times where I've fast forwarded or rewound during a program and then the video gets stuck, causing me to have to reboot constantly. I have the latest player. I don't have this problem on my AppleTV. Also, Roku can track when you pause through your HDMI, and if you pause too long when you hit "play" to resume, the unit re-routes you to advertising or the Roku channel.

I've gone through two of these in about two years. They are great when they work but considering how long they last for the money you pay, they are junk. You're better off buying one of the less expensive models. They have fewer problems and work better.

When is Roku going to finally allow the remote control to control AV receivers? Still need to use two remote controls when you’re running it through my receiver for volume control, fire sticks so much more advanced. And I still can’t tell if the ultra will decode ultra high definition, audio from Amazon music.
