I had wanted to have an automatic standby generator; but the installation costs quoted by two different contractors was more than I wished to pay. I decided to replace my existing portable generator with one with electric start so that my wife could start it if we lost power when I was not home. The GP8000E met out needs exactly. I am pleased with the quality of construction and features. Assembly was simple, involving installing the legs and wheels, filling the crankcase with the supplied oil, and filling the gas tank. I didn't need to charge the battery, I just pressed the start button, adjusted the choke, and I was in business.

I just bought this generator the day before this huge blizzard we lost power and this thing ran like a champ! Extremely easy set up, put the oil in it and gas in it like they said one pull and this thing fired right up. This generator literally ran our entire house no problems! So if you're looking for a reliable well priced good little portable generator, this is the one you want!

I've owned three generators in the time I've resided in my current home for 27 years. My previous brand also contained a Generac generator module, still functional after 15 years! My new purchase of a GP7500 was based on my previous experience with Generac. I have nothing but good words for Generac as it has prevented numerous flooded basements, loss of food in refrigerators and freezers and comfort with running water, heat/AC and lighting for my family during days of power outages.

Excellent quality and great reputation is what led me to buy this generator. I am thankful I have not had to use it, however it provides a great piece of mind knowing its there if need be. One piece of advice I will give anyone purchasing a generator, secure your garage. My first generator was stole within the first two week of purchase. Since then we had anchors installed in the cement and have it chained down. We also have a place secured by the house if we ever need to use it that we can secure it to.

I wasn't sure what generator to buy, but the many positive reviews of the GP7500E helped sway my decision. Everything is checking out so far: it was easy to assemble and it started right up using the electric start. I'm looking into installing a manual transfer switch next. I'm a little concerned about keeping the generator maintained and ready to go if I won't need it for years to come.

I was able to get the wheels on with ease by putting the unit on its side. A little hard to put the oil in and I got oil everywhere. surprised that Gererac did not include a disposable funnel. Unit is easy to move around and lighter that I thought it would be. Started right up. Like the fact that you can recharge the battery throughout the unit which is easy. It's everything that I wanted and a good value. signed>A happy camper.

I was surprised that the THD was high enough that my digital frequency meter would not read 60 Hertz either at no load or full load. I had to read the frequency with my ocilloscope. However the THD must be low enough so that it doesn't seem to bother my electronics. It starts easy with the pull starter. I'll probably use a bigger starting battery when the little one that came with the unit dies. The voltage is pretty stable during motor starts. Since the genset is heavy I would like to see a lifting eye to set it in a pickup bed. All things considered, it seems worth the affordable price for an 8 KW non commercial machine.

I bought this mainly for sudden power outages that I have in my area. Considering the fact that they happen often and living out in the country. Also being on well water. Back up power of some kind is even more important. Of course beggars can’t be choosers and didn’t have much of a choice but to pick this one at the time. I am however still very happy with my purchase and will do 90% of what I need it to do. Start up, running and shut off couldn’t be much easier and like that it can still be pull started if necessary. The charging port for the battery is a nice touch too. Negatives: The instructions weren’t hard to follow but were hard to read because everything was so small. The lettering and pictures. Only other small issue I had was with putting on one of the wheels. The spindle as I guess you would call it where the cotter pin goes into had to be inserted the opposite direction of the other one because the motor mount is in the way. That’s something that could easily be remedied at the factory but would’ve been nice to see that in the instruction manual at least because I had to second and triple check to make sure I wasn’t doing something wrong. Yes I’m aware it does not affect the generator at all whatsoever. Motor or moving wise obviously. Only thing I wish this generator had was a smart idle. In the future if and when I do get a power outage I know for a fact that this will do what I need it to do and still recommend it to people. If this 8,000 watts is enough for said purpose.

It can run from 3 fuel sources which makes it convenient for many emergencies or when you need it most. The wattage and power is impressive. This runs my deep freezer for hours without any issues. It was easy to assemble and the wheels and handle make it easy to move around. This generator is incredible, the noise level is surprisingly low for as much power that it boasts. This is perfect for the power outages that have unfortunately become more common in this area. This is a product and brand that I highly recommend.

I had purchased a Westinghouse Generator and it had all kinds of issues. Before I took it back I did finely get it to run. I don't know who makes there motor but it just sounded very cheep, loose and claney took it back Fast forward I decided after researching several other top notch units I decided on this Generac GP8000e. I was missing things not in the main box but the place I bought it from supplied it all so all was good. I connected the battery, it was charged up, added the oil added mid grade gas, turned on the gas flow to the carb and it started right up and this motor is tight and sounds like a top notch motor. My only regret would be the tool kit that Ace gave me was the cheapest 2 wrench's I think I have ever seen in my life and I don't think they are relevant to anything. i was also missing oil and they gave me Pennzoil and not Generac oil and I heard Generac is the best. Buy it you you wont be disappointed!!!
