This Product has Great Features

I have owned a 5000 watt Generac generator for almost twenty years and it has never let me down. It has a rope start on it and my wife and I both are now in our seventies and have difficulty pulling the rope to start it. I felt it was time to get a another generator with electric start. I purchased the Generac 7500E and it starts beautifully. This product has some great features. I like the low noise level, the ease of operation and the features like the hour meter, the built in gas gauge, battery charger and outlet covers. I use it for home back up. I know that I will be protected in an emergency. Great Product!! Roger 73

Fired up first pull!

Had to put the wheels on but after topping off with oil and gas this thing fired up first pull. It is somewhat quieter than the Stanley that it replaced. Excellent generator for the money. Output seems to be on the upper end of rating. We run power tools and air compressor of it at jobs site. Works great.

Great Generator!!

I purchased this generator after doing some research and felt this to be the best generator by far for quality, features and price. I had used a John Deere that I paid almost 1500.00 dollars for after we were hit by a severe ice storm in 2003. The John Deere was junk compared to this Generac. The John Deere will not stay running if left in the rain or if snow blows in on it. Also the quality of the John Deere was cheap!! It had a plastic gas tank, no electric start or anything to keep it off the ground. The Generac comes with the electric start (which is great), wheel kit, a solid frame and a handle to move the generator around with. Shop around and compare you will end up buying the Generac!!

I love it.

I bought it almost 2 years ago, I haven't had to use very often, only when power is going to be out for a while, but it runs EVERYTHING in my home. No need to shut of anything, just hook it up, push the electric start, and throw the switch in my breaker panel. It's not one of the quiet ones, so I keep it about 100 ft from my home inside my barn and I don't hear it at all.

Good So Far

We purchased this generator to serve both as a power back-up to our house; and for ad-hoc use on the farm in locations where we don't have power. We have gas furnace and water heater so this size (7,500 watts) is big enough to run our well pump, sump pump, furnace, water heater, microwave, and two rooms worth of outlets. We are using a transfer switch so all we need to do is wheel out the generator and plug it in. The assembly is pretty basic (wheels and handle) went fairly well (its heavy). The oil filler cap could be in an easier area to get to (you will need a funnel to get oil into it). Once it was gassed and oiled up it started after just a little bit of choking, and after that it starts the first time every time with the push of the electric start. So far we haven't really taxed the generator yet but it has run well so far. I saw the comments in other reviews about gas leaking but I simply switch the fuel supply to off (with the easy to get to lever) and let the engine run a bit until it starts to sputter and then turn it off and there are no fuel leaks (better for longer term storage this way also). Thus, so far so good and seems it will work well for us - hopefully we never have to find out!!

Best " bang for the buck"

After researching and using other products, such as Honda. I could not help but know that my GP6500 is the best bang for the buck! I know the dependability of generac having owned one in the past ( used it as an enticement on sale of my previous home). This particular model will also give a surge of power when increase of load is needed . With proper maintenance there is no reason it should not last a very long time. Very comforting to know the dependability of the generac name. Living in Florida having dependable back up power is essential. Sleeping better knowing I now have it!

Ready for storm

After losing a fridge full of food, we bought a Generac inverter generator. Gp 2200. Ran a few hours break in then switched to synthetic 5w-30 for much better protection from high temps. Can run sump pump, fridge, freezer, washer and gas dryer. Obviously.not all at the same time, used watt meter and two at a time should be ok. Fairly quiet, starts easy, run dry after use. Turn carburetor screw with small hose on it to drain carb bowl. Most important, run ethanol free gas and add stabilizer!

Good machine but no load monitor

Assembly was rather easy, unit started right up with the electrical start. Was disappointed that the unit does not have a load monitor that tells you how much of output is being used. This should be an important addition to the unit. The breaker switch technique just tells you when you have over loaded the unit.

Excellent generator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First things first, the handle and the wheels are an extreme plus for maneuvering this baby around. My husband is the main user of this but if he's not home I know that I can handle it. It has a very powerful motor that allows us to use multiple tools at one time and not have to worry about a drop in the power. Another benefit, it starts up with one pull (I love that)! The noise consistency is at a medium level, there is no smell and it ran smoothly throughout multiple projects. having 120/240 volts are a fantastic feature along with other amenities such as, hour/minute display, ac breaker and the fuel gauge. I expect this will last is a very long time!

A great backup system

We had a standby 12K natural gas backup generator from Generac in upstate NY and when we moved to eastern North Carolina we had nothing so we decided to go with a portable. Purchased the Generac 7600E (electric start) and had a electrician wire a 10 circuit panel into our house circuits. When the power goes out, we just plug the generator into the house circuits, start it and turn on the house circuits 1 at a time. Works wonderfully. My only wish is that the electric start battery system had a meter to tell the user how much voltage was left in the battery. Overall cost about $1500.
