Works

I bought this to power a off grid cabin in conjunction with a power inverter... it powers all my lights , TV, side by side fridge and a out house with lights and 1500 watt heater.. I'm in Alaska... my only COMPLAINT is the choke... it simply will not start , warm , cold or hot...without choking it!.. I run it for hrs at a time...turn it off and whether I restart IMMEDIATELY, IN A HOUR OR THE NEXT DAY... gatta choke it... makes NO SENSE...slightly loud... fuel consumption is decent...good machine... would have bought something else, but.. in Alaska variety is limited..shipping is costly so had to buy local...would really like wireless start... not available on generac

Does the job

Have had the generator for a few weeks but held off running it until I had a manual transfer switch installed. That happened this week and so the time came to test the switch and the generator. As this was a first run the carb and tank were dry. In went the quart of oil, about a gallon of gas, I pressed the (electric) start button and it fired up without a hitch. I then flipped the well pump, furnace, fridge, a couple of lights and a chest freezer over and no-one in the house even noticed, and the generator wasn't even close to capacity. I hope I never need to use the unit in anger, but I'm happy that if we loose power, we will at least have the basics.

Quality Product made in the USA

The salesman was very helpful. every thing was in the box, great instructions. Put the wheels on, the front rubber pads, the handle, hooked up the battery cables, put the provided oil in, put gas in & started it right up. The reason I bought a Generac was that I also have a Generac pressure washer that is just as easy to start with a rope pull. Great company & products.

Great power where you need it!

The generator was very easy to setup out of the box, with clear & concise instructions. Filling was easy as was connecting the ground wire. This is no small generator and has a lot of power, The pull start was easy to operate. It is not a quiet generator, by any means. So, it's not for going camping. We bought it to have as backup for the major appliances in our house. It has useful 220V connections as well as 110V.

An upgrade

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This generator is fantastic in quality, as one would expect from the leaders in generators. We live in Florida and store insulin along with medical equipment that has to be charged regularly so this is a must for power outages. I hated not knowing if we'd have enough gas to last us, but having three fuel sources relieves my mind. Our house has natural gas already, and we regularly have multiple LP tanks, so it's nice not having to worry about gas fumes from storing gasoline or trying to find gas during storm prep unless we want to. It's a bit large for traveling with it, but this would be an awesome unit for camping if you need a lot of plug-ins powered up and have a truck bed to load it on. The unit itself is easy to start, and easy enough to wheel around short distances. It has multiple outlets to connect into, and a panel to show how long it's running. It's really simple to use, although we have solar on our house so we can't connect into the main panel without some extra costs, so extension cords are the maximum of our experience so far. The unit is quieter than our previous model despite it being larger.

Heavy Duty & Does the Job

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have no basis for comparison, as this is my first generator, but I'm excited to get this guy going . Aesthetically, it's a little bigger than I was probably looking for, but hopefully that translates to more power. I could also do with a color other than orange. Upon opening I was able to start it up with one pull, after putting some gas in. It is a little loud, but I feel completely ready for some camping or the apocalypse.

Good value

Haven't had a chance to use this yet but it was easy to set up and starts great, seems to run just fine. I've only run it for about an hour to break it in, my transfer switch should be done in the coming weeks so the real test will be when I power up the house with it.

Great generator for the price

Bought a generac 4000exl in 2007 and had a great user experience with it. This unit still runs great and is a generator I will never sell . I decided to buy the gp 3600 for backup ( two daughters have houses now) and was pleased with the build quality. Thanks Generac

Electric Start, Quality, and local dealer support

i purchased a GP6500E as a replacement of a generator that was impossible to obtain parts for and was pull start. At 79 years old an electric start was necessary. Home Medical equipment makes it a requirement for power all the time. it is easy to move around and ready in a moment. the Generac dealer put some fuel in it and ran through the starting procedures warning me about safety issues.

Great product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall we have loved having this generator around. We did test it out with a few power tools and it works great. We have it ready to go for the rest of hurricane season. Right now we have used it for minor stuff just to test it out and so far it seems to hold up great. It is not overly loud for a generator. I will say it is really heavy and I am glad it has the handle to push/pull it. I am even more glad its handle can be moved in different positions.
