Flimsy wheels

This is a brand new product for me, I’ve only had it for a few days. My power was out for about 36 hours and I used this generator the entire time. It started right up and ran fine. I am not a fan of how weak and flimsy the wheels are, I don’t think they will last long.

Life saver

My wife and I purchased this generator because of an underground fault in our electrical service. We had it wired into the main breaker panel to power our well-pump, boiler recirculating motor, freezer and two refrigerators and miscellaneous lights at night until we’re able to restore our main service. I can’t tell everyone enough what a lifesaver this product has been the last week. Total amperage draw on the above listed items is around 7amps and this unit will provide 30 amps max. So we have had to sacrifice “ Nothing “ this week with our current delema. Highly considering a Generac home back up unit in the near future. We also own a propane powered Generac unit in our fifth wheel that is also amazing and quite. Thanks Generac

Easy to use, powerful generator!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a powerful generator! It is very durable and a medium size, so you can move it around if needed. Easy to use and hook up to your appliances. There is some noise but half of the noise of my neighbors generator. This is a must buy!

GP17500E

Generator does a great job. I owned one for many many years. I live in the country. We have very hard winters and that means power outages. The outages usually last many many hours. The Generac 17500 provides me peace of mind in a power outage. I don't have too worry about frozen pipes, heat, lights or food going too waste. I wouldn't be without my Generac. My original 17500 is getting old and this new one is the replacement/backup.

GP15000E This generator and i have been through two hurracains

Just before August 9, 2004 – August 15, 2004 I acquired the GP15000E for construction work that i was doing at the time. some of my co workers said that for just for me using portable power it was way overkill but hey i'm just that way. So the overkill came in handy when Hurricane Charley arrived. Charley was brutal, killed power every where. Lucky for me, overkill and I had a lot of Power to run. I was lucky my neighbor was an electrician because i was just going to run fans and and a fridge. he happened to be around to help. In exchange for him hooking Overkill directly to my house"s breaker box so we can run the air conditioner I let him and his wife and his two little babies bunk with us which he really appreciated and so did i for his service. It was a hot for those four days that we went with out regular power but Overkill was a great investment. Not only that i went through with Charley but also moved to Texas just in time for Hurricane Ike in September 1, 2008 – September 15, 2008. Went three days with out regular power on that deal. There has been a few storms since then that my trusty Overkill has pulled me through some power outages. I would recommend for anybody to have a Generator of some sort but i recommend Generac because so far i have not had any problems with my Overkill, I"m glad i have that tool in my war chest. As a matter of fact a storm blew through Huntsville Texas yesterday 3/24/2017 that knocked down trees on the power lines that left me once again without power for about 10 hrs. Lucky for me i have Overkill here to save the day. well that my story , hope this helps you out with your decision on what power to buy

Issues

I would like this generator more if the battery lasted longer and if it would not have problems starting. After 3 batteries I believe I fixed the battery issue. However, sometimes it does not want to start. This is very frustrating when our power goes out. I can eventually start the generator, but it is not easy. And it is almost impossible to start with the pull start. Unfortunately, this generator cannot run our heat pump. That is my bad for not doing enough research. But once it is running, the generator can run everything else in the house. This is important because our house is all electric.

Thus far all is well with the generator

This is my third season with this generator and thus far it has worked as it should. I don't have any experience with other generators and brands so I cannot tell how this specific model is relative to the others but thus far, it has not let me down. Some observations though. 1. The battery is on a trickle charger and this keeps the battery fully charged. This is a good thing because it takes a great deal of effort, at least for me, to use the manual start. 2. This one is a gripe. The manual states that old fuel should not be kept in the fuel tank. I get it. However there is no easy way to drain the fuel! I use a hand pump to remove the old fuel at the end of each season. Generac could have easily added a de fueling valve to its gas tank.

Built Like a Tank—Ready for Anything

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Generac GP9500E is a beast. Tons of power—easily runs the essentials plus extras without breaking a sweat. The tri-fuel setup is a game changer. Whether it’s gas, propane, or natural gas, it fires up quick and runs smooth. Noise-wise, it’s not whisper-quiet, but for the power you’re getting, it’s surprisingly reasonable. You’ll hear it, but it’s not going to rattle your teeth. Maintenance is straightforward—keep up with oil changes and check the air filter now and then, and it’ll treat you right. COsense is a solid safety feature, and the build quality feels like it could survive a small war. Or a zombie apocalypse—because let’s be honest, if the world ends, you’ll still have power while the neighbors are burning furniture.

Easy to Start

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my 3rd Generac portable generator not because the other ones went bad, but because we use all 3 as a service provider. These always start easily and provide the power we need at the various locations were landed power is not available. Fuel consumption is not the best, but you sacrifice using fuel for the amount of power you actually need. So my recommendation is don't oversize your generator to much for what you actually need.

The Power Came on Just Before We Fired It Up!

We were into a two day power outage and the temperature was in the 20's. Called ahead and paid over the phone - picked Generac because of the name and quality. Drove 70 miles and picked it up and by the time I got home I was too tired to put it together. It got down to 13, but our propane stove kept us warm - put our food outside! Got the generator put together and the power came on! Took a break, added oil and cranked w/o gas to make sure everything was oiled good and it started! Filled with gas and started on the first crank. Plugged in 2 space heaters and the truck engine heater and let it run for an hour and a half to break it in for next time. Plugged in the battery charger and charged for 24 hours to make sure it is ready to go - really like the battery start feature! Great purchase for us - we have been wanting to get one. (Your program won't let me post a 4 X 6 photo.)
