- 5 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase12/8/2020OMG we purchased these right before COVID struck and kept on hand should it be difficult to go shopping - which it was and everything was bare. My family LOVED these and the product is SO versatile. I was able to cook numerous dishes using these. Super easy to use - soak in water, drain, then use as needed. I made casseroles, hashbrowns, hashbrown breakfast pizzas, soups, potato cakes & more with this product. This is now something that is a staple on my pantry shelf and I always have a spare. Thanks to Covid, we found this gem!
Awesome Product - Pantry Staple From Now On!
RomieDomie - 5 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase11/15/2021This product exceeds all expectations. They are quick and easy to prepare for cooking and cook up to your particular taste easily and are delicious. They also come in smaller boxes but we prefer this lager size because there are just two of us and it makes it easy to adjust your serving size. We are on our 4th or 5th large box I think.
Hashbrowns
Sams Shopper - 5 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase5/31/2019So many uses for this product, no peeling and grating, just soak in hot water and use in frittata or burrito or latkes or hash browns. Great for camping or emergency preparedness. I even use them dried for pet treats. They store well in cereal container in the pantry, nice to always have them on hand and they stay fresh for So long.Winner
- 5 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase7/7/2024I NEVER imagined dehydrated hashbrowns could taste so good AND be so easy to prepare! The shreds contain salt and really doesn't require any more salt, for our taste anyway. Quick brown up & GOOD!! My country pantry ALWAYS has these stocked up for those big family breakfasts or the quick Papa & Nana breakfasts.
Tastes so good AND so easy to prepare!
Granny to 12 - 4 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase11/13/2023I microwave for 1 minute 1 cup of hash browns covered with hot tap water — stir and then place in a covered container to set overnight—add a small amount of water and stir again before frying on my Blackstone—you would be hard put to know they were rehydrated potatoes—
Time saver and decent value for so many uses
doingmybest - 5 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase12/3/2023Tastes just like restaurant hash browns and very easy preparation and cook time. You can add anything you like while cooking and it stores well. With a small family or retired couple like us we can’t use a bag of potatoes before they go bad. These have a great shelf life and if your a person who likes to have food storage for emergencies this is for you.
Tastes just as good as restaurant hash browns.
Karen - 5 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase11/3/2019I use these every month for community church breakfast and had been buying them at the Sam's Club in Sherman, Tx. however during remodel some whiz kid decieded not to restock these hash browns, I can order them online but would much pick them up while I'm them getting rest of supplies, sure wish you would reconsider and restock them in store.
Better than frozen, but not a happy camper
Noel - 5 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase2/3/2023We love these hashbrowns. Our Sam's has been out of them and they haven't been available on line in forever. Finally They were available online so I spent the extra $ and bought two. One week later they were in stock at our store so we bought two more!
Idaho Spuds Goldin Griddle Hashbrowns
Bill - 5 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase6/22/2024These dehydrated hash browns are by far the best for feeding a large group. Simply boil water pour into the container. While waiting for the hash browns to be ready. Cut up the onions, peppers and garlic. For cheesy hash browns get your cheese sauces ready and the topping ready. Once the hash browns have rehydrated. Start cooking and enjoy.
Idaho potatoes
Rvrcatsneyes - 5 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase4/20/2025A very quick side dish, breakfast and a topping for Shepards Pie. I also use left over mashed potatoes, an egg, chopped or dehydrated onion flakes, and Idaho Spuds for potato pancakes... I like that I can make a single serving for myself when I'm craving hashbrowns.
Convenient options
David - 5 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase12/3/2022I love cooking with this product! I had always purchased frozen hash browns prior to trying these dehydrated hash browns. I use a little extra water to rehydrate, make sure they’re dry before cooking on a flattop griddle. Cook them in butter on one side ONLY until that side is as crisp as you like it makes these even better than my local diner! These are great as a side dish for pork or steak too. And can’t beat the price!
LOVE LOVE LOVE these!
kikismom - 5 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase7/19/2021simple to pop some in a bowl with warm water. Wait 5 min, then drain and toss in an oiled pan. They DO get nicely crispy if you like "well done" hash browns like my husband does. Takes just a few minutes to cook, serve with eggs, bacon and a sprinkle of cheddar for a gourmet breakfast! Great long shelf life, never needs refrigerating.
Easy, fast breakfast treat
Scarletwildfire - 5 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase5/1/2021If Walmart is going to supply subs for an order you should have the opportunity to confirm or reject the order. Golden Grill Russet Hash brown potatoes are the best potatoes for hash brows------if you can get them. These are advertised as such, but when received you get Idaho Spuds. Now Idaho spuds are ok and I kept them but something needs to be done about what is advertised and what is shipped. These come from Sams Club so the problem lies there.
Not what I ordered
ClintOriginally posted onwalmart.com - 5 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase10/4/2021I love these. Takes only a few minutes to rehydrate. I bought a huge box and rehydrated the whole box. When we didn’t need all of them, I froze smaller portions in zip lock bags. Now I have the perfect portion for the two of us. They cook up perfectly. Never mushy.
Better than the frozen variety
IKE - 5 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase4/12/2019I read other reviews and purchased it online ...my local club doesn't carry this product and they should it's wonderful..I've used it for all types of side dishes its easy to prep(one to one ratio hot water to product) I add onion powder etc and I've even used it as a quiche pie shell family loves it! Don't hesitate to buy its worth every penny!
Fantastic!
LIGal - 5 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase4/28/2019These taste good, they last a long time, and they are easier to work with than frozen hash browns. No mess, no splatter. I use them in omelettes, casseroles and as a side dish. I’m glad they are back. I didn’t see them for over a year, so it was a pleasant surprise that they were available again.
These Are Great
Mari - 5 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase10/24/2021Been using this product for years, so easy, more economical than frozen. Consistent quality. If you order online, don't order with something heavy (say, a gallon of liquid) - it may get boxed together & it will get crushed, leaving you with lots of potato dust instead of hash browns.
Simple, easy, economical hash browns.
Phillip - 5 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase7/25/2021I like these because they last on the shelf a long time. I also like them because they they are good as the frozen kind after I soak them in water to get hydrated again. I make cheesy hash brown casserole with them and everyone loves it. So if you want to make copy cat Cracker Barrel hash browns then this product is perfect.
Long lasting delicious potatoes
Francesca - 5 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase5/22/2021Love these! Very convenient and easy to make. Simply pour the amount of servings into a bowl and add the equal amount of hot water, let it sit for about 15 minutes, drain water, and cook! Come out equal to the frozen and homemade without all the work and time involved! Added plus..taste GREAT! Also, these store nicely in my pantry..no refrigeration or freezer needed! YAY!
Awesome potatoes!
triciaub13 - 5 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase7/13/2021If you like your hash browns on the crispy side this definitely is for you. Where have these been all my cooking life? Haha these hash browns are really easy to cook and taste great. Use only what you need and they can be used in recipes that call for shredded potatoes which makes these convenient too. If you have not tried these you’re missing out..
Extra crispy hash browns
