Tanimura and Antle Sweet Italian Red Onions are the result of more than 20 years of cultivating the ideal sweet onion in the Italian tradition. They can be roasted, sauteed, grilled, caramelized or served fresh. Grown on USA family farms, these red onions are harvested at the peak of freshness and quality using sustainable growing practices.
What to Use Red Onion In?
Cooking with red onion is one of the easiest things to do in the kitchen. Dice it and add it raw to salads, dips and guacamole. Tips on Storage and Usage
Store Tanimura and Antle Sweet Italian Red Onions in a cool, dry place with good air circulation. Choose onions that are firm and have little to no scent while avoiding those with cuts, bruises or blemishes on the bulb. When buying whole peeled onions, choose ones that don't show any sign of dehydration on the outer layers. To minimize watery eyes while chopping onions, try refrigerating them for an hour prior to cutting.

Sweet Red Onions have a slightly better flavor and texture; and in our household we use both Red and Yellow onions for multiple dishes. The Red Onions are naturally sweeter than the yellow ones and are less spicy/stronger in terms of flavor with enriched sweetness; also the water content is comparatively low in Red onions making it more desired in several Indian dishes. We use these onions in multiple dishes such as curries, pulavs, biryanis, pastas, salads and even making Indian Raita (Yogurt Salad) or just sliced, slivered raw paired with cucumber and lime juice.
