My childhood staple of which I eat less after 80yrs, still load it up with brown sugar.  Need more sugar since Domino changed their formula back in the mid ‘70s to dissolve thoroughly, so it’s harder to have a pile of brown sugar high in the bottom of the bowl.  And the oats last; just finished a 42oz from 2018 and opened a new one; both bowls tasted the same- good.  I pour boiling water from the kettle onto my oats in my 2 cup Corningware mini-pan up to 1/2” from the top, bring it to the boil on the stove, turn it down to low for 3min, and serve covered with brown sugar.  Add milk as you like.  I never add salt.
I reckon I should say I recommend Quaker Oats, but I thought everyone already ate them for breakfast.

I use Old Fashioned Oats exclusively in making the crumble topping for fruit and berry cobbler, which I then freeze in individual portions. Old Fashioned Oatsfreezes well, combines with butter and brown sugar well and retains its texture even after microwaving and freezing.

Better for baking than Instant Oats

This cooks up good.  A few other ingredients that I use in this stove top method of cooking (never in the microwave, since that makes it cook up wallpaper paste consistency - gummy; mushy), are:  milk; vanilla; salt; butter; margarine; olive oil; nutmeg; cinnamon; granular sugar; Quaker Steel Cut Oats (1/3 cup to 2Cups Rolled, Traditional Oats); Chia Seeds.  Then, once cooked up - which will always take at least 20 minutes on the stovetop for the steel cut oats to be cooked all the way through, I add to the top of the finished-product  bowl-full:  cinnamon sugar (1T); warmed peach slices, more milk, and a little more margarine.  THEN I place it in the microwave or else oven to warm up the toppings.  Placing in the oven at 195 degree F will crisp up the top, esp. if you add a pat of butter; but, no need to add more margarine or butter.  It's still delicious.  This favorite breakfast recipe  has SO MUCH fiber in it, you're guaranteed to have a bulky bm the next morning.  This is a good thing, as soluble fiber such as this actually scours out your g.i. tract and keeps it clean and healthy, so:  no diverticula fodder.   If I had a dining room full of children before taking them to school or issuing them off for their day, I'd most def. prepare this delicious alternative.  There are so many things you can do with this Quaker Traditional cooking Old Fashioned Rolled Oats,  the sky's the limit.  You don't have to add the extra cereals with it, but it's what makes it so heart-healthy, and digestive tract happy and blood glucose level homeostasis.  I prefer this method to the refrigerated version that you see in online cooking demo videos.  But, either way, you can't beat this ultra-healthy and very DELICIOUS breakfast!  I give this Quaker Oatmeal two thumbs up!

Fast %26 Versatile, HEALTHY, SASTISFYING Breakfast

My dog eats oatmeal! I’m don’t like oatmeal unless it’s in a cookie. But to eat it for breakfast not doing it. So I can’t give  you honest opinion … I buy it for my dog  and feed him in the morning, pop it in the microwave . He loves it with blueberries and a little honey, 2 eggs over easy and plain yogurt!

I travel in my RV, I remember my dad made oatmeal when I was a kid. That’s why I always stick with Quaker. I have to admit I’m kinda a junky for this stuff. 
At night you just got to have that something.  For me it fits the bill I’ll add dark brown sugar and a touch of my coffee French vanilla and man I’m in heaven. I’ll change it up sometimes walnuts, raisins, whatever. 
But what I really enjoy is the memories it brings back.

Great for RV’ers

I forgot what I was missing by not fixing and eating real oatmeal for breakfast! It is so tasty. I plan to add blueberries or strawberries next time I fix it. It doesn’t take that much longer to fix oatmeal from scratch, particularly when fixing for several people.

So much better than the generics. Almost smells like cookies right out of the box.  So fresh and no dust!   Other cheaper off-brands are lifeless with taste and full of dusty oat pieces.

Fresh and wholesome

Started eating oatmeal for breakfast for health reasons - helps lower cholesterol and other health benefits.  However, it caused digestive issues.  I followed directions on canister for cooking but quite by accident found if I cooked 20   minutes instead of time on canister I didn't have digestive issues.  Very happy about that since I had already tried overnight soaking etc and nothing had worked.
So now I cook 20 or so minutes and add blueberries, walnuts and ground flax seeds which is also heart healthy, sometime some other things plus milk and honey  - really good breakfast providing energy that last all morning.

Love this product. I was disappointed that I received a package that looked like it had been dropped and run over. It doesn’t stand upright because half the bottom was smashed(although not broken open). And the plastic lid, which seals for freshness, was bent out of shape, so as not to be effective.
