Easy to install, effective cooling

The single-hung windows in my living room are really narrow, so I couldn't fit a normal window air conditioner in them. I installed this portable air conditioner in less than 20 minutes after reading the instructions and watching the video (so a lot easier to install than a window air conditioner). This was a good solution, as this air conditioner works well to cool down my open-beam living room. I did figure out that I had open the upper drain hole and let it drain condensed water into a bucket, otherwise it started to leak into my floors (probably because it's humid here, or my children were running it on "dry" mode). According to the box it was in, the CEER is 12.3, so not as energy efficient as a window air conditioner, but probably good for a portable air conditioner. (In the bedroom we have the Midea 8,000 BTU U-shaped inverter window air conditioner, and it has a CEER of 15, which is excellent.) On the highest fan setting it's pretty noisy (much louder in comparison to the U-shaped window air conditioner), but it's just a low hum on the lowest setting. We can still hear the television on high fan setting, but it's noticeable, so we usually drop it down to medium or low when watching TV.

Upstairs is so much coller

The unique dual hose set up makes this ac unit more efficient than others with a single hose. Both hoses in one encasement looks good too. It was easily installed and works great at keeping my finished room over the garage cool. It supplements my home ac and makes the entire upstairs in my 2 story home more comfortable during the heat of summer. My home was built with only one ac unit and it struggles to keep upstairs cool. Money well spent.
