These were so good. I grilled for 5 minutes on each side and they were medium-rare. They were so delicious and like totally melted in your mouth. All I used was a little SPG (salt, pepper, garlic) and a salt-free steak seasoning. Melted a slice of butter on them right after I pulled them off the grill. You woulda thought you died and went to heaven, they were so good.

Freaking Delicious

Delicious 😋 Even though it was pricey by my standards, it was worth every penny for its tenderness and easy chew. For context, it was a little over $30 for about 6 small pieces. Somehow, Jesus showed up and I was able to make two (2) full meals out of the package 😳. The more I think about it the more I think that I am headed back to Sam's to pick up another Filet Mignon to put in my freezer, it is just that good 😉

Filet Mignon

Steaks are excellent have bought them multiple times. However when pre-packged they are very inconsistent in size, they should all be uniformly sized. When ever possible I prefer to buy them out of the meat case so I can pick each one. Unfortunately there is almost never a butcher avialable to service the case.

Fabulous Steaks but inconsitent size when packaged

I always buy your prime Angus filet mignon. The taste has always been very consistently tremendous. However this batch was not quite as good as all the others I had purchased in the past.

NOT UP TO PAR

I bought two 4-packs. Half of them were super tender. Half of them couldn't be fully eaten because of the gristle. Disappointing, especially for the price and for PRIME beef.

Maybe you'll get good ones?

Have to say I was disappointed with this purhase, The price of filet Mignon was within reason, but the cut was not to the quality I expected.
Sam's meats have in general been within reason, however on this particular package, two of the 4 cuts were very good as expected, but the other 2 were fatty and gristly, what is worse these two were hidden under the price sticker and not visible to inspection.  That was not fair.  If that continues, I will have to buy elsewhere.

Meat Quality of lack thereof

Bought 2 packages of filets for a birthday dinner. They looked so good in the packaging but after opening, the underside of the steaks had so much fat hidden underneath that hadn’t been trimmed off. I paid almost $30 a pound for about 4.5 pounds and there was probably a full pound of fat that I trimmed off. I will never buy these again. I’ve included a picture of the fat and gristle that was cut off.

Too much fat

The quality of the meat is good but the butchers are not very good. When I bring home I have to cut off a lot of the silver skin and remove long strings of tendons left on the meat. Usually wind up with 1/4 of the weight from being nothing but inedible product. But prime cut is the only way to purchase as  choice meats are tough.

Need quality butchers

I buy prime filets all the time the thing that bothers me the most is the inconsistent quality, one-time great, others not so great. FOR the price it's supposed to be the best and sometimes it's not. One other thing they package in 4 normally. 3 are all pretty close in size and the 4th is always a lesser size and they then put the label over the top, so you do not see the difference. One quest gets the runt of the litter

GREAT THEN NOT !!

My bad for buying the filets twice. Both times when turned over had home was nothing but fat and silver skin in the bottom. It’s horrible to pay that much money for fat. Butchers need to be taught to cut meat instead of charge for fat. Will never buy filets here again.
