I bought a second one

I've shredded tens of thousands of pages with this shredder and it is still going strong. Just follow the manufacturer recommendations - don't stuff too much material in at once and give the shredder a break every 30-40 minutes. The shredder does generate some paper dust. So I do recommend vacuuming the unit, shred bin and motor exhaust fan after filling the shred bin 4 to 6 times, especially if shredding that much material in a short timeframe. Not only does this help with the dust, but you can keep the little pieces of shredded paper from escaping the work area. A small shop vac with a brush attachment works well. (By the way, 2 bins full of shredding fit into a 13 gallon tall kitchen trash bag with some room to spare.) I like the shredder enough to buy one for my daughter as a replacement for her brand name shredder I broke trying to shred 3 sheets of paper at once.

Would highly recommend.

Excellent shredder. Quiet. Was able to shred quite a bit in a short period of time. It claims you can shred up to 18 sheets at a time. I don’t think I’ve done that many at once probably 10 or 12 sheets however the shredder was capable of handling 20 minutes of continuous use.

Well worth the price!

Best shredder I have owned, and for a reasonable price. Reduces pages to small crumpled flakes that would be almost impossible to reassemble and read. Almost jam-proof and runs for long periods without shutting down to take a break. Easily handles more than a dozen pages at a time, so you don't have to be exact in how many you insert. Extra large bin. Evidently does not need periodic oiling as many do. The only negative I can think of is that in two others I have owned I could place a trash bag in the bin to catch the shreds, but that does not not work well in this shredder and tends to make it think the bin is full when there is nothing in it but the empty bag.

Thank you for sharing this feedback. It is ok to put a plastic bag into the shredder bin to collect the shredded paper, and the size should be a little bigger than the bin, so this 18 sheets around 7 gal. Thanks for choosing Member's Mark.
