Not hard to assemble but one leg of the unit was not manufactured properly, causing great difficulty and delay. I had to file down this defect in order to finish the assembly.

My husband is an accomplished "DIY" person and still it was a bit of a challenge to get together single-handedly. As far as "tumbling" goes, once it gets a decent amount in the bin it's a beast to spin; I think that may be due to the boxy design. We still do not have a load of compost completed (it has only been 4-6 weeks) so I cannot yet comment on that aspect of it. I do like that my stinky 'garbage' is now contained, and the tumblers aren't an eyesore like my open bin was, so in that respect I'm happy with it. The true test will be if it effectively yields lovely "black gold" as the end result.  :)

Good compost bins.  The assembly takes considerably longer than expected, but once that arduous task is complete they work very well

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this composter few years ago and had difficult time to put it together, way too complicated and some parts seem to be low quality which are already breaking. From my personal experience I found this composter poorly designed and very difficult to put together with a short time life quality.

DON"T RECOMEND

After years of trying to make good compost ,I came across this Composter .
I must admit reading the article about Composter i thought it was to good to believe .But I still thought I would give it a go.As I have been trying to make good compost with various different methods off which none really worked..Well beleve me this Composter  does what it says on the tin.It is just MAGIC. It makesGREAT compost which very little effort at all you just have to make sure you turn it regularly which is no bother.Gone hare the days of of back pain having to turn and empty bins and refill .

Fantastic

Our original purchase of our compost tumblers was smooth, and we received the product which has been performing well for the last 5 years. When the hinges became too rusted to hold the lid on, they not only sent me the hinges, but new lids.  When I had to email them that the lid fasteners hardware was not with the lids, they immediately replied that they would ship those too --- we received them within a few days!  Thank you Lifetime!  My compost tumblers may just last a lifetime!

A LIFETIME closed composting tumbler is the best way to compost. I don’t like open composting, turning compost with a pitchfork or shovel, because that stirs up too much dust and mold that gets into your respiratory system and onto your hair and clothes. Open composting also attracts rodents. Closed tumbler composting works faster, and having a double closed tumbling composter allows you to fill the second one while the first one is completing its processing. 

I enjoy bringing kitchen peelings out to my composters almost daily. It gets me outside to look at nature. It’s fascinating to see the breakdown process that results in wonderfully rich earthy compost to add to my garden.  

LIFETIME guarantees their products for life, and you can rely on them to follow through if there are any manufacturing defects. Lifetime is excellence! They quickly responded when I needed to replace the frozen rusty inside latches. I think they have redesigned the doors from hinged to sliders, which appear to be a better design that won’t rust. I’ve had this LIFETIME double tumbler for around 15 to 20 years and it’s sturdy. 

I also have a larger single LIFETIME tumbler for over 20 years that came with outside latches that seem to be good quality stainless steel, and so this tumbler with the stainless steel outside latches is a great design!

Easy LIFETIME tumbling for faster composting and no mice!

My opinion of the composter has gone from love to hate to love.
I was delighted with the unit initially because of the ease of use, and the convenience of not having to turn the compost pile every week or so. The delight faded when the latching mechanism rusted and became difficult to open and close the access door.
When I called to purchase a replacement mechanism I was pleasantly surprised when the agent offered to replace the hardware free of charge. When I asked the rep if they had addressed the rusting problem I was told they have powder coated the metal parts so there should be no further issues.
Since they apparently have corrected the rust problem this has turned out to be my favorite  method to create "black gold" for my garden.

Superior customer service

I bought a dual composter some years ago. I very much have enjoyed this product, but over time,  A lot of the metal pieces had rusted. I called customer service and the agent was great. He was able to track down the parts I needed, and is sending them on their way .

Great customer service

Nice upgrade to 100 gal (dual 50). Best price for this Tumbler by far and was fairly easy to put together with the video and visual step by step instructions via "Bilt" app. Have had it about a month now and the first batch is almost finished..Now starting the second tumbler. Got first batch to 140 early on. May buy a large grill cover to put over it to save on direct UV, but should hold up well.
