A LIFETIME closed composting tumbler is the best way to compost. I don’t like open composting, turning compost with a pitchfork or shovel, because that stirs up too much dust and mold that gets into your respiratory system and onto your hair and clothes. Open composting also attracts rodents. Closed tumbler composting works faster, and having a double closed tumbling composter allows you to fill the second one while the first one is completing its processing. 

I enjoy bringing kitchen peelings out to my composters almost daily. It gets me outside to look at nature. It’s fascinating to see the breakdown process that results in wonderfully rich earthy compost to add to my garden.  

LIFETIME guarantees their products for life, and you can rely on them to follow through if there are any manufacturing defects. Lifetime is excellence! They quickly responded when I needed to replace the frozen rusty inside latches. I think they have redesigned the doors from hinged to sliders, which appear to be a better design that won’t rust. I’ve had this LIFETIME double tumbler for around 15 to 20 years and it’s sturdy. 

I also have a larger single LIFETIME tumbler for over 20 years that came with outside latches that seem to be good quality stainless steel, and so this tumbler with the stainless steel outside latches is a great design!

We've had this product for a number of years.  I part became unsoldered so I ordered a replacement.  The cost was very reasonable and I was happy to order it, only to learn that Lifetime would be sending me the part (along with several addition parts) free of charge. Great product and Fabulous service

I have been using the Composter for about a month. The Compost is developing and I am still adding to the first batch. The second composter is still empty. The unit has small flies (normal) but has little oder and is very easy to add material, rotate to mix and will be easy to empty. I really love the dual composter concept. When if finally get to the second composter/batch I'll have plenty of time for the first batch to cook and complete the final conversion to compost. I even through a chicken in there 3 weeks ago and currently don't see any remains. 
Assemply was somewhat easy. I did some assembly after sunset and had to disassemble and reassembly the composter drum, but it only resulted in a little extra time.

Great Product

It took a little trial and error to see the full benefits of this.  I have a large yard and use it for yard waste and kitchen waste.  Initially I would put in too much wet green waste and it would get a little funky.  I realized I had to add enough drier waste to balance it out.  Now it works great and makes nice compost to add to the garden. Very happy with it.

Not only do I love the functionality of the composter, I can't say enough about their customer support.  LIFETIME gets an A+ for being professional, courteous and helpful...  they have replaced multiple parts of my composter for free.  I can't say enough good things about the product or the company!

THE Composter

We purchased at Costco several years ago.  Unit does an outstanding job of composting however some of the metal parts have rusted to the point that one side is no longer usable.  Called customer service to see what I could do to save the unit and they agreed to send all of the rusted parts.  Unit is great...customer service is excellent.

Outstanding Customer Service

My opinion of the composter has gone from love to hate to love.
I was delighted with the unit initially because of the ease of use, and the convenience of not having to turn the compost pile every week or so. The delight faded when the latching mechanism rusted and became difficult to open and close the access door.
When I called to purchase a replacement mechanism I was pleasantly surprised when the agent offered to replace the hardware free of charge. When I asked the rep if they had addressed the rusting problem I was told they have powder coated the metal parts so there should be no further issues.
Since they apparently have corrected the rust problem this has turned out to be my favorite  method to create "black gold" for my garden.

Superior customer service

Not hard to assemble but one leg of the unit was not manufactured properly, causing great difficulty and delay. I had to file down this defect in order to finish the assembly.

Good bins, more than some assembly required

My husband is an accomplished "DIY" person and still it was a bit of a challenge to get together single-handedly. As far as "tumbling" goes, once it gets a decent amount in the bin it's a beast to spin; I think that may be due to the boxy design. We still do not have a load of compost completed (it has only been 4-6 weeks) so I cannot yet comment on that aspect of it. I do like that my stinky 'garbage' is now contained, and the tumblers aren't an eyesore like my open bin was, so in that respect I'm happy with it. The true test will be if it effectively yields lovely "black gold" as the end result.  :)

I purchased this composter few years ago and had difficult time to put it together, way too complicated and some parts seem to be low quality which are already breaking. From my personal experience I found this composter poorly designed and very difficult to put together with a short time life quality.
