Any coffee review has to start with how the coffee was brewed to be of any value to others. I immersion brew my coffee with a 2 minute steep before passing it through a cone filter. This is a very refined dark roast coffee. It has no rough edges, for lack of a better description, that are a staple with most dark roasts. I detected caramel and chocolate notes with a pleasant aftertaste. No astringency in the aftertaste. I keep three different coffees in stock a medium roast, a medium dark roast, and a dark roast. This coffee will permanently fill the dark roast opening I've had for a couple of years now.

No rough edges

I have bought this coffee for many years at my local Sams unfortunately you guys close that my Sams in Batavia that carry does coffee and now the Sam's in Montgomery Illinois does not carry this coffee on the Shelf so I had to order it.
The ordering process was seamless and delivery was as promised I would like to be able to go to the store and just buy a bag when I need it though as opposed to ordering it.

Great taste

Good, dark roast flavor.  Works well in my super automatic coffee maker.  I orginally tried the Starbucks Espresso whole bean from Sam's but it had too many broken beans and loose debris that kept jamming my machine.  This Members Mark whole bean has none of that.

Found this on clearance at my local club and am so glad I tried it. I love deep, dark roasts and this fits that bill perfectly. It's great for pour-over or french press, IMO, and is a bargain. I had to reorder online (not in stores) and have it on auto-ship now. Great value, Thanks Sams for carrying this.

Love this coffee! I'm a coffee snob

I've purchase this coffee a number of times, and it is very good coffee for the price.  However, use caution when ordering it online because the packaging has trouble surviving shipment.

Beats the Bucks

Great Coffee beans for Espresso machines

This coffee is surprisingly good. Especially fresh found and brewed in my Bialetti Mocha Pot!

Much better than it should be for the price

The coffee is absolutely wonderful. So why the 3 star review?  The bag.... the bag is absolute garbage.  The ziplock seal busted when opening the package for the first time.  Unprepared for this, the coffee had to go into a clear ziplock bag.  Not the best place to keep coffee beans.

Great coffee - Horrible resealable bag

The new packing does not allow a vacuum seal.  The old aluminum packing often got a minor tear or puncture that would break the vacuum seal, but could at least start out vacuum sealed.  The last time we ground coffee, the static charge on the beans sent ground coffee throughout our kitchen! It was a big mess to clean up & the beans weren't as fresh smelling.  We are going to be buying our coffee from another source.
