But, the pergola has enhanced our patio presence that we have had people all over the country who want to join us. Instructions are very detailed, make sure to pay attention. I messed up on one part, but it was my own fault. I like that it is pre-stained. Takes a full day to put together. You only need a 2nd man for about 30 minutes during the process. The rest of the time, they would just be in the way.

The kit arrived with some damage and missing hardware, however , the company expedited sending the damaged part and hardware. The Ceder wood is really a beautiful shade of dark brown with a slight hint of redwood. I applied Thompsons water seal to all the boards before the assembly. It took two people about 4.5 hours to complete the pergola. It is really beautiful, love that the hardware is all black, and that the corner posts are 6 inches square, and look very substantial . We anchored it on a concrete patio by out pool, and it looks amazing.

I looked around for months and this one was the perfect one for the price. The wood is sturdy. It did take my husband I a whole day to build in the Florida sun so be ready. The Instructions were a little complicated to understand in the beginning but once you get the hang of it it gets pretty easy. We did run into the problem that one of the cross bars on top didn’t fit so we got the jigsaw out and cut a little piece so that wasn’t a big deal. I definitely recommend that you double check when Placing the crossbars on the roof in the correct direction because we didn’t realize it till later that it had the slot for the screws to go in and we end up having to Measure the distance between them and making o...

Instructions are okay but only if you are installing it on a perfectly flat surface. Since my concrete pad had some slope for water runoff I didn't install the corner brace bolts to the upright posts until I had it raised up in place.
