This is probably best outdoor toy I've ever seen.  Well worth the price, made well, so sturdy and so much fun.  3 year olds enjoy, 8 year olds enjoy it...just enough speed and thrill to keep them entertained.  You need a lot of outdoor space (and flat preferably) for this one. We got creative and built a ramp to extend the useable track space. We have some friends whose boys (8 and 6) use it as a slide directly into their pool!  Probably not recommended by Step 2 but oh so fun!

Best Outdoor Toy Ever!

We had outgrown the smaller Step 2 coaster, and decided Santa would bring the bigger Extreme coaster for my 4 and 6 year old.  They absolutely love riding it!  Definitely gets some speed going down, and I like how easy it is for them to push it back up and launch themselves down.  I can’t wait to get it out of the basement and take it outside once it warms up.  I bought this product based on all of the rave reviews and you can add my review to the list now :)

My kids love it

Took me and my neighbor about an hour to put together. Nother was labeled like the packet stated. There isn't drill holes so using a basic screw driver will take FOREVER. There was extra pieces which got me stressed but over all my kids love it dearly and wish they had the cars so I can have more for five kids to play on.

Good

Good quality product.  As noted by others, the instructions could be improved.  Also, there were insufficient washers supplied to complete the job.  However, our 22 month old granddaughter is enjoying this product, and we believe it is sturdy enough to last until she outgrows it.

Lots of fun

We gave this to our grandsons, ages 7 and 3 and they were thrilled.  We can see that it will be fun for them and their friends for a long time.  The product is made well, but was somewhat frustrating for my husband and son-in-law to assemble it.  My husband, who is very skillful at assembling anything from cars to airplanes fortunately had washers in his tool kit to place between the bolts and plastic and indicated that the bolts would have worked much better if they were about a quarter of an inch longer.  I am considering purchasing another one for my other grandson based on the finished product and fun, but I would hope that this feedback will perhaps help Step 2 and any buyers to realize that this would be something that would greatly help with the assembly.

Birthday present !

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this as a Christmas gift for my two-year-old grandson because he loves the one at his sitter's house.  It arrived exactly as described ("3 large boxes") and was easy to assemble. Set it up in the basement so he could enjoy it throughout the winter.  It is a sturdy, well-designed product  and he s having a blast !  :)

Great !!

My kids love this coaster- I have a one year old, 4 year old and 8 year old and they will all play on it for hours. The neighbors and cousins love it too- we are now considered the fun house. It’s great paired with our trampoline(works like stairs) and I don’t have to worry about them falling off the trampoline when trying to get off. It’s also great exercise- even my 16 month old will try to walk the car up by herself so she can go for another ride.  I recommend this to all of my friends and family- totally worth the money!

Best outdoor toy for kids

Excellent product, ACTUALLY large enough for 'big kids', and not a terrible assembly.
(We've all bought that 'big' product that was chintzy and too small for your kid; This is not one of those!)
My 3 and 7 year old have been using this for days straight.  They LOVE it!

Do NOT use the included written assembly instructions.  It is very poorly done and confusing.  Search for this product on Youtube and you will find an excellent, detailed, extremely helpful tutorial of the assembly.  With the right tools, the video, and no distractions, you'll do it in under 30 minutes.

I would also recommend you have enough space if you are using it inside.
We have it at one end of our living room moving into our family room:  It's probably about 25 feet in length, and that is just about right (longer would be even better though).  Rolls fine over carpet and kids have been loving every second!

Excellent product, Use online assembly video!

Overall, a nice little coaster.  My husband put it together in about 45 minutes.  But, once again, like with the playhouse, there were several screw holes that were not drilled or not drilled all the way through.  It was also missing several washers for the screw/nut sets, but we luckily had some spare ones.  My kids are small for their age (3), but they are able to push the car back up the ramp by themselves.  There are notches in the top for the wheels so that the car doesn't start to go down the ramp before the kids are ready, though I wish the green walls were a little higher on the top for added safety.

Fun Coaster

We love this toy and have actually owned it twice. They don’t send you nearly enough washers to stabilize the bolts. Buy at least eight more washers and double them up. The way the kids run up the center stair, you want this thing tight! We doubled up each side of each bolt! But we have a line and love it!! I would love the toy to include some sort of bottom wheel to allow transporting it to the street easier.

So much fun but buy extra washers before assembly!

I had this vision of having it put together for my son to see on Christmas morning and be so excited and say "WOW" but that didn't happen... My husband was putting it together (it takesa while) Christmas eve night only to find out that there weren't enough washers and he could finnish it! What a disappointment... We ended up putting it in the basement and haven't had the time to get washers to finnish puttung it together. So I couldn't tell you how my son likes it. But since you email me me several times to write a review... here you go.
