[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have several kayaks and a canoe. This Lifetime Cadet kayak is great for smaller kids. It’s very light which makes carrying it and loading a breeze. The carry handle is a very helpful addition for myself for carrying it or my 4 and 8 year old to drag it into the water. It maneuvers easily in the water even for a beginner or younger child. My 8 year old absolutely loves it and had a blast racing me on our 2 seater Lifetime Envoy kayak. Nice and stable in the water. My 4 year old was able to maneuver it decently enough for a kid who has just started learning how to paddle. Definitely recommend for any younger kid no matter their skill level.

Luckily, Lifetime makes a great one so it was a no-brainer which brand we wanted. We chose the Cadet because it supports a higher weight limit which means we’ll be holding on to it a lot longer. We took it up to the lake and the kids LOVED it. My 6 year-old was able to climb on the back with ease. For dad, the built in molded carrying handles made it a breeze for me to carry both from the car. Whether you’re buying your first or third kayak, I definitely recommend the Cadet. Once you see and feel the quality of this product, you’ll know why we’re a Lifetime family.
