My Preferred Cheeto

Decades ago, I briefly worked in a Frito-Lay factory as a quality control lab tech. I collected samples twice a day from all plant lines and tested the products for percentages of moisture, oil, salt, etc. as well as appearance and taste. (Yes, I and others in the lab were paid to eat the products.) From time to time, I also diluted beta-carotene concentrate with vegetable oil used to color and flavor the final product along with cheese powder and salt. I had my favorites of all the products. Classic Cheetos was one of them. I always thought the machine that produced the uncooked puff, called a colette, was fascinating. After frying, the puffs are coated with colorant, cheese, salt, etc. In my day, there was no such thing as Flamin' Hot Cheetos, of course, but the Flamin' Hot is just a enhanced spiced cheese powder on the basic, classic, crunchy type of steam puffed corn. Of all the Cheetos available, the Crunchy Flamin' Hot are my preferred. YMMV.

We buy these for our daughter

We don't like these but our daughter LOVES them. We purchase these when we are going to travel to her house, her family loves them. I believe the quality is just as great as their other items, it's just not a flavor we enjoy.
