Returned a $960 (on a big sale) department store chain just like this when I realized how light weight it was (3 to 4 grams). Bought this instead and couldn't be happier! NOTICEABLY heavier chain, plus I like how the closure is actually a part of the necklace instead of that little gold cap that is barely welded on with so many necklaces. With this necklace, the last box link IS extended to form the closure link so it seems like it should be more durable (check the pics of the closure part carefully). My ONLY complaint is the shape of the lobster clasp makes it a LITTLE difficult to get it to open far enough to UNhook the necklace, so I will probably have to spin it around to take it off (so I can see whether I have opened it enough). Getting it on is no problem, though.
