Favorite Oatmeal Pancakes Recipe

What's better than getting an extra fiber boost from oats in your pancakes? Customizing them to your liking with sweet stir-ins.
Brought to you by: Quaker

Prep time: N/A | Cook time: N/A | Servings: 12

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Quaker® Oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked)
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)
  • 1-1/4 cups fat-free milk
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Stir-Ins (optional)

  • For blueberry pancakes: 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries (do not thaw)
  • For banana pancakes: 1 medium-size ripe banana, mashed, and 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • For apple cinnamon pancakes: 3/4 cup finely chopped apple, 1/4 cup chopped nuts and 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • For chocolate chip pancakes: 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  1. In large bowl, combine flour, oats, baking powder and salt; mix well.
  2. In separate medium bowl, combine milk, egg and oil; blend well. Add liquid ingredients to dry ingredients all at once; stir just until dry ingredients are moistened (do not over mix).
  3. Add one of the stir-in options, if desired; mix gently.
  4. Heat skillet over medium-high heat (or preheat electric skillet or griddle to 375°F).
  5. Lightly grease skillet. For each pancake, pour 1/4 cup batter into hot skillet.
  6. Turn when tops are covered with bubbles and edges look cooked. Turn only once.
  7. Serve & enjoy!

Better than the generic brand and worth it.

I've always thought oatmeal is oatmeal so just get the generic cheaper variety. Well I ran out and had to have some shipped and I could not get just one carton of the generic. Glad I did because they are NOT the same. This seemed to have little dust in it and the oat flakes seem to be much larger than the generic brand. If you're just adding oatmeal to something like bread the finer ones are OK but if you're actually having a bowl of oatmeal I will pay the difference from now on for this brand.

non-GMO is a plus, large size more budget friendly

Good product. I bought these rather than quick oats for baking cookies. Like that they are non-GMO. If I can't find/afford organic I at least try to find non-GMO. The inner liner is a bit odd. If you don't want to use the cut-out pour option you still need to put that liner back on; otherwise the outer lid won't fit tightly so don't throw it away like I almost did.

Good %26 Good for You

1 pint mason jar layer fruit, then oats, fruit then oats. Fill jar with your favourite Milk ( Plant, cow, goat, yak. You get the idea.) put on the lid and throw it in the fridge. Hungry? Healthy cold snack is in the fridge! I go through 1 - 2 boxes a month. Did I mention the jillion tons of fiber? LOVE THIS STUFF.
