Better taste

I tried Members Mark brand since that's all they sell at Sam's in a larger quantity...just not as good as these. Order Planters online, it's worth it.

Perfectly engineered peanut perfection...mostly

I love these peanuts. They are the best dry-roasted peanuts I’ve ever had. But I shouldn't be surprised. They are the result of probably millions of dollars and decades of food engineering. And for this price? You can't beat 'em. They are incredibly tasty and addictive. And they've got this perfect balance of salty, umami, and just a hint of sweetness that makes them impossible to resist. Trust me. You won't be able to stop eating them. Exactly what they’re supposed to do. But I've gotta get this out. Planters have spent over 100 years perfecting the dry-roasted peanut and it shows. But, seriously, how can they be that good? It's peanuts and salt, right? Ummm, sure. It's got peanuts and salt. And some other things that might surprise you. Here's the ingredients list: • peanuts (of course) • gelatin (aka not vegan) • sea salt • sugar • cornstarch • torula yeast (where the MSG comes from) • maltodextrin • corn syrup solids • paprika • spices (contains celery seed) • natural smoke flavoring • onion powder • garlic powder • salt I get it. I'm not eating these nuts thinking they're all "good for me" or anything. After all, these are not simply dry-roasted peanuts. They are processed foodstuffs. I mean, c'mon. Salt is listed twice, and sugar, albeit in quite small quantities, is added in three ways - sugar, maltodextrin, and corn syrup solids. But before you go and throw out your tin of Planters nuts, hear me out. The nutritional facts are pretty decent. Most of the fats are the good, unsaturated kind, sodium is quite low at only 150mg/serving, and it lists only 1 gram of added sugar. All in all, not bad for occasional snacking. I share this to help others increase their awareness of what goes into their bodies. I try to eat whole, unprocessed foods most of the time. I may hit about 80% on most days, but I still live my life and enjoy a few things that I probably shouldn’t – i.e. eat these nuts. Just not a bunch of them and not all the time. P.S. I will try to make peanut butter out of these beauties, plus, when the tin is empty I save the powder that’s left and use it as a seasoning.
