Cholestoff vs. statins

Father had heart attack 15 years ago. Dr wanted 2 do surgery but he refused only letting them put in stents. Was on a statin for cholesterol, but was concerned about side effects. Within 6 months, was off statin and only taking Cholestoff Plus. 6 months later, Dr said he was doing so well, could get of statin. Dr was surprised 2 hear dad had already been off it for 6 months and please that the Cholestoff seemed 2 be working. I'm not suggesting anyone else do this. Please always consult a medical professional. However, it may be something to discuss with Dr and consider, especially if having problems with statins.
