Mucinex DM has 1200 mg of guaifenesin, which helps thin the mucus and 60 mg of dextromethorphan, HBr which is a combination of antihistamine and cough suppressant. These ingredients are combined into one tablet that has a patented bi-layer extended-release construction.
Are There Any Contraindications For Using This Cough Suppressant?
Mucinex should not be used by people who are currently taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors or MAOI. It also shouldn't be used by women who are pregnant or breastfeeding without first consulting a medical provider. It also should not be used for a cough that lasts more than seven days.
