About this item

Product details

Member's Mark™ Spring Perennial assortment caters to the needs of all gardeners –from first timers to the most experienced. Dormant, bare root perennials are easy to plant and grow and this assortment is designed for the success of all gardeners. Perennials contain the added value of returning and blooming year after year. There is a wide array of carefully curated collections and varieties included that are suited for shade gardens, sunny gardens, and partially sunny gardens. Flowering shrubs, climbing vines and reblooming collections are also available to take the guess work out of what to plant for your specific garden solutions.

Astilbe, hostas, and lily of the valley are perfect for adding easy summer color to your shady garden areas. All three grow exceptionally well in the garden as well as in patio containers.

If your garden receives partial sun and partial shade during the day, daylilies, garden phlox, clematis, lilies, heuchera, aquilegia, peonies, viburnum, and weigela are what you need to create a beautiful summer landscape.

For summer perennial gardens that receive six or more hours of full, direct sun, asclepias, kniphofia, echinacea, trumpet vine, wisteria, honeysuckle, burning bush, and hollyhocks grow and bloom well in these light conditions.

For gardeners that want to pamper and attract nature, look for the hummingbird and butterfly icons for varieties that pollinators love.

ECHINACEA

I wish I had taken a picture. I purchased two of these this year. Each box says that it has 6 roots. The first box I bought got damaged at my house (blew off the outside table during a storm.) When I found it in the yard, the bag was open and only three roots were inside. Although the contents looked intact, and I didn't see any of them anywhere, I assumed some of them were lost. I planted those and they all came up nicely. I decided to purchase another box and got the last one at my club. I brought it home and put it inside, waiting to plant until after the cold snap. I opened it yesterday and guess what…only 3 roots again. So three stars for roots that came up, but minus two stars for deceptive packaging. $5 apiece is more than I would have paid. I could have bought live plants for that.

Not so great

We bought the butterfly bush blue and weigela deep pink. In the store one was just twigs and I guess I was hoping it had good roots. It looks absolutely pitiful out of the package. We shall see if it does anything. I potted it to get a head start for when we do plant it in the yard. The deep pink bush is great but not the blue one.

Aquilegia - low number of viable roots

I purchased and planted the Members Mark Aquilegia. There were 10 roots in the package and I planted them all in a circle around a statuary in my garden. Unfortunately, only 3 of the 10 are viable. Kind of a low percentage.
