The dosage depends on when you smoke your first cigarette of the day: use the 4mg gum if you smoke within 30 minutes of waking up, and the 2mg gum if you smoke after 30 minutes. Follow a 12-week schedule: 1 piece every 1-2 hours for the first 6 weeks, then 1 piece every 2-4 hours for weeks 7 to 9, and 1 piece every 4-8 hours for the last 3 weeks. Chew the gum slowly until it tingles, then park it between the cheek and gum, and resume chewing when the tingle fades. Repeat this for about 30 minutes. Avoid eating or drinking 15 minutes before and while chewing the gum. To enhance your chances of quitting, use at least 9 pieces per day for the first 6 weeks. If cravings persist, you can use a second piece within the hour, but avoid continuous use as it can cause side effects like hiccups, heartburn, and nausea. Do not exceed 24 pieces a day and consult your healthcare provider if you feel the need to use the gum beyond the treatment period.

I quit smoking and have used this product for longer than I really should, but once you get used to the taste, it helps with dry mouth. I have used this brand because it is less expensive, I can order it or pick it up, and in my opinion, it tastes better than other brands.
