I love to drink black bold tasing coffee.  I also like to purchase whole bean coffee to have more control over the brewing process.  When I saw Member’s Mark French Roast Whole bean coffee, I decided to give it a try.    I have never had Member’s Mark whole bean coffee before, so I was not sure what to expect.  Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised.  

The first thing I noticed was a very pleasant and robust coffee smell.  The coffee beans seemed to be uniformed, well roasted and not broken.  The beans were somewhat oily, but not to the extreme.  After grinding the coffee and single cup brewing, I noticed that the aroma was strong and pleasant.  The coffee was not acidic or bitter, but bold and flavorful.  It is not the best French Roast Coffee that I have tried, but, considering the price, it is very, very good.  I would recommend it to anyone who likes dark roast coffees, especially, considering the amount of coffee you get for the price.

Bold tasting affordable whole bean coffee

From the moment I opened the bag, the aroma was rich and inviting without being overpowering. It had that fresh, smooth scent that made me excited to brew a cup right away.

The flavor didn't disappoint either. It was well-balanced—not too bitter and not too weak. I appreciated that it had a smooth taste with just enough depth to make it enjoyable whether I drank it black or added a little cream. It's the kind of coffee that works well for everyday use, especially in the mornings when you just want something reliable and satisfying.

Another thing I liked was how consistent it was. Every cup tasted just as good as the last, which isn't always the case with bagged coffee. It brewed easily and didn't leave any strange aftertaste.

Overall, it's a great value for the price and something I'd definitely buy again. If you're looking for a dependable, good-tasting coffee that doesn't require a lot of effort, this one is worth trying.

Good value. Great product

I recently tried this French Roast whole bean coffee, and it has quickly become a staple in my morning routine. The aroma alone is rich and inviting—deep, bold, and slightly smoky in the best way. Once brewed, the flavor delivers exactly what you'd expect from a great French roast: full-bodied, smooth, and robust without being overly bitter. If you're someone who loves a strong, classic dark roast with depth and character, this is definitely worth trying. It feels like a high-quality coffeehouse experience right at home.

Rich flavor, amazing aroma

The aroma is amazing as soon as you open the coffee, and grinding the whole beans really makes it stand out even more. Grinding it fresh each day gives the coffee a noticeably fresher taste—something I don't usually do, but it made a big difference for me. The flavor is smooth and enjoyable overall. This is definitely a routine I would consider doing daily just to have that fresh, rich taste every morning.

Great way ro start your morning

Omg. The smell alone will get you and yes it taste just as good as it smells. Its bold and flavorful. The beans are a dark rich brown. Full of flavor. Its a 40oz bag. Love that its resealable so it stays fresh. Although it tasts so good it won't last long.

Aromatic dream

This French roast was surprisingly smooth. Other French roasts ive tried by other brands are so strong and acidic. I only grind the beans i need for one cup at a time,  i think it helps prevent the coffee from going stale. I personally add cream and sugar to my coffee but i go light with members mark French since i consider it light on flavor,  a very unique French roast in its subtleness.

Subtle flavor with smooth finish

I received this coffee as part of a promotion. It is whole beans when grinding it smelled fantastic tasted great. I just worry about it not being single or origin and mold toxins. Otherwise I would say it's fantastic if you're not concerned with those things.

Great taste

These Member's Mark French coffee beans are excellent. They roast to a rich dark French profile with bold smoky notes and a smooth finish that I really enjoy in my morning brew. The beans are fresh and aromatic right out of the bag with a nice oily sheen that indicates quality. Grinding them fresh makes a big difference in flavor and the price for this large bag is outstanding. No bitterness just pure satisfying coffee taste. I keep coming back for more.

Not bad at all! I'm impressed

Having to grind beans is an extra step sometimes people don't have in their busy life.  But fresh ground coffee is a big deal for a lot of people.  This coffee is definitely fine.  Good flavor. Not bitter.  Actually for a dark roast, you get the nice dark notes without getting too much bitterness.  So I definitely recommend the coffee.  If you are person who can taste the difference between fresh ground and buying pre-ground, then you'll probably enjoy this coffee. Any marks against it are because of the fact that it needs to be ground and also that the directions on the bag are very odd.

Good Coffee don't love having to grind it.

The coffee beans had the better flavor when making sure they were finely ground. The flavor wasn't as robust as I was expecting from a dark roast coffee. There was no bitter taste and compared more to a medium to medium dark roast coffee. It did have a good taste was just expecting a little more since it was a dark roast. I would recommend this but making sure people knew it was more of a medium roast.

Member's  Mark Whole bean French Roast

Not sure if we got a bad batch, or what, since this was our first time buying whole bean French Roast at Sam's Club. The beans smelled and looked wonderful, but the taste was bitter and NO good, no matter which setting we used on our professional grade coffee machine.
