How Do You Cook Oxtail in the Oven?

Preheat oven to 325°F. Sprinkle oxtails liberally with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Coat the bottom of a heavy Dutch oven with olive oil and brown oxtails on both sides. Add beef broth, seasonings (basil, oregano) and tomato sauce. Cover tightly, place in oven and bake for 2–3 hours. Remove from the oven, place on the stove. Add stew vegetables of your choice. Cover and simmer until vegetables are tender, approximately 20–30 minutes.
