[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This heavy duty transport wheelchair from medline is incredibly sturdy. Made from reinforced carbon steel, it can accommodate large individuals up to 500 lbs. The product came pre-assembled so no need to install except for the optional leg rest. The large 12” rear wheels glide smoothly over outdoor rough surfaces with minimal rolling resistance. The armrest is removable, allowing the caregiver to do side transfer easily. Few drawbacks from this product: Due to a heavy-duty build, this product is quite heavy. There is no handbrake provided; the caregiver must brake manually when going through steep ramps or slope driveways. Lacking of built-in seat cushion reduces comfort. Lastly, the width of the chair may not accommodate a standard doorway interior opening. One should check whether their doorway can fit this wheelchair to pass.
