Medline Bath Bench with Back and Padded Arms, White

I had to go with a 4/5 because my box arrived without one (1) long screw, which is needed to bolt the legs into the bottom of the chair, which is a pretty major deal. It's on ME that I didn't order the at least 2-year warranty for part replacement (I honestly thought I had done so!). The bottom line is I ordered this exact chair, as it was the ONLY chair in Walmart's inventory covered by my UHC Medicare Advantage Plan OTC benefit, and I had gone from a badly broken arm, to being scheduled for major orthopedic surgery with 3 days' notice. I needed a chair ASAP for stability/fall risk for the mandatory 2 pre-op showers, and this was it. I was lucky enough to somehow have a 3" screw in my tool/junk drawer, so I used that in place of the winged screw that was missing from the bag of hardware, and duct-taped the heck out of it! Due to my tub being quite narrow, and the chair fitting perfectly inside of its tight parameters, I don't think there will be a problem with the legs splaying outward, or the chair collapsing. The chair claims a 350-lb capacity. I am about 295-lb, and even with the time-necessitated, improvised screw installation, the chair felt sturdy beneath me, allowed me to move around freely (including standing and sitting as needed), and made NO creaking noises that would've made me nervous...I was impressed. I chose NOT to attach the arms to allow for more side-to-side movement, which worked really well for me. I had NEVER used a shower chair before, and being disabled with major spinal issues, I feel foolish now for putting myself through YEARS of unnecessary pain, discomfort, and stress/fear of falling. The urgency of purchasing, assembling (very easily with NO TOOLS), and using this chair for sudden surgery pre-op skin cleansing, was a blessing in disguise. If you have hyper- or hypotension, pulmonary issues, vertigo, EDS, or any other issues that can sometimes make showering a scary proposition due to fear of passing out/falling, especially if you live alone, this is a MUST HAVE. You can start and finish your shower seated, or use it to take a rest, catch your breath, calm yourself, and/or steady your head. I know I won't take a chance on my health or well-being again, and will have this seat in my shower with me from now on. PS - This exact Medline model was in the bathroom's shower of the hospital room where I had my surgery, and stayed one night for observation, so it's certainly hospital approved!
