working to firm up arms

Since i cant do a lot of exercise i thought I would try weights. I'm working on my arms. what I like is I can start with let's say, a 2 pound weight and work to a higher level as I improve. I like the case the weights come in it's easy storage and when i want to use them i know where they are. I will be measuring my arms soon to see if they are getting a little firmer. wish me luck.
