These pearls are gathered from freshwater lake and river mollusks. Most Freshwater pearls come from China and they can be mostly round to off-round, or rice-shaped to baroque. They look similar to Akoya pearls, but are the perfect gift when on a budget. I received these pearls as a Christmas gift. It was a beautiful surprise.  I love them.  Unfortunately the clasp is difficult & I was unable to get it open.  Since they are 24", I can slip them over my head.

I wanted some a strand of pearls longer than 28 inches.  The pearls and clasp are lovely.  The clasp is small and I find that it is a little difficult to deal with.
