Bought same package last year for half the price, but I guess that's expected. The food is great! Easy to prepare and the best tasting of all the brands I have tried. I like this so much better than the ones that come already as meals. A couple of cans were switched out but I was happy with what they gave me instead. Very pleased with Augason

Excellent taste and ease of prep

Boxes arrived in good condition. I didn't inspect individual cans or open any. Just put away for just in case. Hope I never need, but it does make me feel a little more secure knowing it's there.

No apparent issues

The purchase was everything as it is advertised. It is significantly cheaper that comparable offerings especially when shipping is considered. It arrived in good shape, on time and is easily handled boxed quantities. The total amount can be stored in a closet and provide the peace of mind that preparation allows. I opened one can and found the contents fresh and tasty. This is an outstanding purchase that I don't think can be beaten.

Accurate as can be

I have researched many year supply kits out there, and compared nutritional value. This has any other kit beat, hands down. I just received my kit last week, and went through to inventory all the cans. Everything was right on the mark. I did have 2-3 badly dented cans, but just called up Augason Farms and they are sending out replacements today. Because of recent events, more and more people are buying these kits. I was able to receive my order in about 3 weeks, which is much faster than some other companies providing 1 year food kits. If you have researched it, Mountain House is no longer available... and the nutritional value of Aguason Farms beats them entirely! Be smart and add Beans, Lentils, Rolled Oats, Brown Rice, and Hard Red Wheat to this supply and you will literally have enough food for 2 years!

My picture includes the year supply with the addition of 2 boxes of Brown Rice, 2 boxes of Hard Red Wheat, and 1 box of Fruit. Augason Farms is the ONLY emergency food company that offers Brown Rice, buy some!

Other reviews say some cans are partially filled... this is because the cans are based on serving sizes. Realize that you are not getting shorted at all. Yes, some cans weigh more than others... but that is like trying to compare the weight of gold to aluminum. Some foods just weigh more than others.

Overall, this is a fabulous purchase! I recommend this product to everyone who wants to be smart in our current way of life. I am now saving up for an additional year supply kit... Augason Farms is the way to go!

A great addition!

I followed what several other reviewers recommended. Buy extra rice including the brown rice (brown rice only has 7 year shelf life). Also buy extra dried fruit. Since I can't eat Gluten products I also bought gluten free bread mix, pancake mix, and brownie mix.

Two minor complaints.
1. Augason did not always package like items in the same box.
2. Fedex put their label over the top of Augasons label on 80% of the boxes. Very frustrating.. I had to open every box just to identify what was inside then mark the box.

Good value

I have been caught in situations where getting out for food has been impossible. I ordered a one-year supply of food and have been very pleased with the quality of packaging and variety of foods. I'm not wild about the vegetarian meat-flavored (chicken, beef, taco) products since when I do eat meat I prefer it to be authentic and not vegetarian - but in a situation where I could not get or store meat - I will be happy to have it!

This can be a life-saver

I havent actually eatin anything yet, but i noticed that alot of people had problems with damaged cans. My shipment came in seven days with not even the slightest dent. I opened all the boxes to see the content, marked the boxes, and then put the cans back in. Hopefully that is where they will stay for along time.

Havent eatin, but undamaged shipping

The one year supply came in 15 separate boxes. Each 12x8x18 inches. The boxes I opened contained commercial sized resealable containers of freeze dried food. I did not prepare any to eat. I stacked them in a closet easily as most are fairly light. The total stack size is 2x11/2x5 feet. All in all alot of food in a compact size.

Storable Food

Everything arrived in good condition. We were very curious so we opened the diced potatoes. They were surprisingly good. The only reason for the 4 star rating is because the servings are not individually packaged, but at half the price of other similar products I can overlook that.

good buy

This is a great value for the money. You get a great quantity of food but my only complaint is that the meat is vegan. You get a vegan chicken, some bacon and quite a bit of taco seasoned meat. The chocolate milk is also milk substitute but for the cases and cases of product you get I can over look things like that. I was going to order whole egg powder from a competitor and it was back ordered for so long it held up my complete order, it seemed like that was their standard operating procedure back order back order back order. Any time I tried to order a one year supply of food it was ALWAYS weeks backordered. I cancelled my entire order with them and ordered with Sams Club instead. What a breath of fresh air! IN STOCK! In the 1 yr order of food I got an entire case of 6 whole egg #10 cans and there were more in another case! I loved the hand mill for the grain - in a emergency catalog I saw the same one on sale for $49.99 that's included too. I am absolutely going to order another 1yr from Augason Farms to have on hand and will tell my family to have it in their storage areas too.

My low rating is not due to product quality or shipping because I have ordered before with satisfaction, but because the claim this will last one adult an entire year is unfounded. Any online calorie requirement calculator will show that average daily calories listed won't even sustain a 5' tall, 100 pound 85 year-old with a sedentary lifestyle.

Few people would have the discipline to limit themselves to a calorie intake that their own comparison chart shows to be less than what they provide children in their family packs. When you consider the extra effort required to provide yourself clean drinking water and fuel for heat and this allegedly one-year supply would be exhausted within six months.
