PLEASE give your cat unscented litter!!!! do you know your cat's smell receptors are 700 times more powerful than humans? Can you imagine the scent being 700 times stronger and then to add the scented pellets on top of it that are now being sold it's crazy!!!!!! Unscented litter absorbs your cats smell just as much as scented litter. Please don't make your cat put up with that he only does it because he loves you. They also hate being enclosed in litter boxes with lids because it's their natural instinct to have a Escape route. Think of your feline and put them before the faults things you've been taught through marketing!!!! I'm so thankful Sam's Club has unscented it's very very hard to find!!!!

Great product.

I am a professional petsitter and go to homes of clients to care for their pets. So when I say I clean a lot of litter boxes I DO! Fresh Step is the best litter I've found and I often recommend it to my clients. Too often I walk into a clients home and the first thing I smell is the litter - even if it's not "dirty." As a professional, I am sensitive to it. I have 2 cats of my own and the litter odor stays fresh way longer than I would expect it to - or is even posted on the bag. I prefer the unscented to avoid any chemical smells and am so happy to have found Fresh Step in an unscented line.

Professional recommended

I like that it comes in separate 10.5 pound bags. I recently got two  kittens.
 I've tried a lot of litter.  This Fresh Step litter has great clumping, which means kittens and cats fling and track less litter on the floor than non clumping ,and  even other Clumping litters. It beats the ones I 've gotten Walmart (Kitty Diggings,Special Kitty, Cat's Pride,Arm %26 Hammer Natural with Corn Husk, and the Red regular not the light weight, Tidy Cat Clumping 24/7 litter) on clumping and tracking. 
However, it's a smaller grain litter. It takes a lot more of this Fresh Step litter to get the same depth in my kittens Stainless steel litter box.  It took only 10 pounds of any of the brands to get decent spread and depth. It takes 2 bags of this Fresh Step to get the same depth that's over 20 pounds of litter. 
This Fresh Step doesn't have good Odor Control. Scouping out used litter  2 times a day this Fresh Step litter has about the same amount of odor control as cheaper kinds of litter. It only last 5 to 7 days before you have to throw it all away and start over. On the plus side because of the great clumping there's not much used litter left to throw away so it's very light and easy to toss. If you're really scraping up the waste products you can possibly get a little longer if you don't mind the smell.
So far the best solution I have found for Odor is a bag of cheap clay( Kitty Diggings) litter on the bottom of the box and about 5 pounds or 1/4 container of the regular 24/7 Tidy Cat.
So if you scoup twice a day, it comes down to do you want less tracking and great clumping or have a litter that you have to use twice as much to get decent spread but get less odor control than with regular 24/7Tidy Cat?

Great Clumping Horrible Coverage

I use to buy 4 to 5 of these 4 packs a month spending over $100 plus. Four 10 lb bags are easier to handle which was a plus, along with unscented due to allergies. Then came the change, it seemed gradual, opening a bag to find it was darker, and it seemed to turn to mud rather than clump. It wasn’t long and all the litter in the bags were of the same, changed for the worse. So will buy no more, litter boxes are difficult enough to maintain, I want the old formula back, until then bye, bye 👋

Fresh Step simple unscented litter

My cat has asthma and I have bought this product before, but it had beed a minimal dust free product.    This time the dust is unbelievable and my can as had several asthma attacks.  Needless to say I am very unhappy with the product, but the worst is that I relied on the product being low dust and I threw the packaging away.

So dusty it was bothering my sinus and getting dust all around the litter box and into the next room. Had to return. I really wanted to like this due to the price but not only did it not work in the long run I would end up using more bc I would have to change it once a week. I went back to the worlds best litter in the red bag bc one bag for 18 dollars is only changed once a month and has little to no dust and no smell plus I can pick it up at any Walmart which is closer and more convenient. I wish Sams would start carrying worlds best litter.
