I bought a second one

I've shredded tens of thousands of pages with this shredder and it is still going strong. Just follow the manufacturer recommendations - don't stuff too much material in at once and give the shredder a break every 30-40 minutes. The shredder does generate some paper dust. So I do recommend vacuuming the unit, shred bin and motor exhaust fan after filling the shred bin 4 to 6 times, especially if shredding that much material in a short timeframe. Not only does this help with the dust, but you can keep the little pieces of shredded paper from escaping the work area. A small shop vac with a brush attachment works well. (By the way, 2 bins full of shredding fit into a 13 gallon tall kitchen trash bag with some room to spare.) I like the shredder enough to buy one for my daughter as a replacement for her brand name shredder I broke trying to shred 3 sheets of paper at once.

This shredder can handle the demand

Bought this shredder to take care of 25 years of in-laws documents that we knew our cross cut shredder could not handle. Over a few days, we confetti shredded over 5 copy paper boxes of paper, filling a dozen extra large garbage bags and never had the overheat light go on, I was the one that needed the breaks! Staples were no problem but be sure all paper clips are removed. Pretty quiet compared to our former shredder. I recommend having some form of shredder lubricant available when running larger jobs, we went through half a bottle.
