This printer has great quality and does great for my in home office

when I lift the top to place a document to scan or copy the "lid" has to be opened all the way up or it just falls down. My other HP could open at different positions so I could set it up under a shelf and put the documents in. Is the "lid" broke and I need to return it for a new one or is this what I have to live with?

We bought this printer less than a year ago, and its worked pretty well up until a day ago, my wife printed a document wirelessly from her phone, the monitor on the printer said there was a printer error and that it need to be turned off and re-started, no big deal, I turned the printer off and now I cant turn the printer back on, its completely dead, I've looked online for possible fixes and nothing has worked. I'm very disappointed with this printer.

We bought this around Christmas time 2018 to replace our 8600 that died. After setting it up, we test printed items from the computer and from our Iphones (Airprint) and the items from the computer printed ok but the items from the iphones printed blurry. we tried again and it printed fine. but later on tried again and it printed blurry. We called HP support and they replaced the print head and it looked like it was working but printed from Iphone 2 days ago and it again printed blurry. We are going to take back to Sam's club

I bought this printer around 2 years ago. Amazingly, as the factory warranty was coming to an end, I began to get email messages several times a month to buy an extended warranty. As I only had printed a little over 4000 pages and since it was still fairly new , I chose not to extend the warranty. Now, just a few months past the warranty, the printer appears to need a new print head at $119.00.. That's nearly what I paid for it. Thinking the yellow reservoir had dried up and wouldn't let any ink through, I have removed the print head and used a syringe to push isopropyl alcohol through the yellow reservoir as well as through the magenta, cyan and black reservoirs. The alcohol flows through fine. I reinstalled the head and printing a test page. I get everything but yellow ink. Now Im guessing the yellow head burned out even though the printer diagnostic page showed ink in all cartridges. When working, it prints beautifully. The fax feature works perfectly. For the price its not bad if you want to replace your printer every 4000 pages or so. This is my second HP printer that has had this problem. I had a HP 6500 before that I replaced because it too quit printing yellow at around the same number of pages. Sadly, I think I'm done with HP. Buyer beware and good luck.
