[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this attachment to help us eat more healthy meals. I do a summer garden so I always have plenty of squash and zucchini. Have already used it quite a few times. It is easy to use and cleans up easy.

I bought this yesterday and made a beet salad today with the beets I spiraled using this attachment. The attachment did a great job of peeling and spiraling the beet. I tried to use the attachment to peel a sweet potato (not spiral it) and that did not go quite as well as the beets. It could be because the sweet potato was oddly shaped. Even with this difficulty I am pleased with the purchase. I see lots of spiraling in my future.

I received this yesterday and couldn't wait to try it out this morning. I love it! Although I am 80 it is easy to use and the instructions are easy to follow. I have peeled and cored an apple and cucumber so far, but plan to try the rest later today. Another great Kitchen Aid product.......

My wife, who works at a culinary store, purchased a plastic spiralizer about a month and a half ago. At first the product was great but the plastic was weak on it and any hard vegetables made it difficult to handle the extra torque needed to spiralize them. One example being butternut squash. This is just a great vegetable as a "noodle." Once my wife saw this attachment, and knowing how I disliked the plastic, hand crank model, she purchased me this all metal, powered version. I was blown away by it. It handles zucchini, apples, cucumbers, perfectly. Then I tried the butternut squash. I was planning on making a butternut squash "noodle" and pork yakisoba. Well, I noticed the only flaw that I have seen with this product. The skewer that spins the vegetable to let the blades spiralize it just isn't big enough. Although the stand mixer has the power to handle the torque needed to cut the vegetable, the skewer doesn't have enough surface area to grip enough of the vegetable to allow that torque to be used; the skewer ended up tearing up that end of the squash. The skewer's diameter is about an inch and a half. There is plenty of room on the attachment to accommodate a larger diameter skewer, something in the range of a 3 inch diameter piece would be nice. Kitchenaid designed the skewer to be easily attached and removed. Kitchenaid, if you are out there and listening, you've made a great product. All the blades included and the peeler work great. How about you include another, larger diameter skewer along with the smaller one?? That way it gives this attachment all the advantages over any other spiralizer out on the market.

I received this as a gift for Christmas from my husband. I first used my spiralizer 2 weeks ago and was absolutely in love with it! I thought it was the greatest gift my husband had ever gotten me. I spiralized everything and anything I could think of and had wonderful results. In its second week of use however, I started to encounter problems. The peeler began to have difficulty peeling simple items such as zucchini and cucumbers. I then began to have difficulty with the mechanism staying on its track and it began to skip. My husband helped remedy this problem by indicating to me if I kept pressure on the black handle of the blade the mechanism would not skip on its track. Now I am experiencing the blade skipping and becoming stuck on the item I am attempting to spiralize, causing the piece the vegetable is pierced with to core through the middle of the vegetable making spiralizing impossible and me incredibly frustrated. Although in love with it at first, I am now contemplating returning my spiralizing attachment since after two weeks of use it is no longer functioning properly.

Making zucchini noodles has never been easier! Same for spiralizing potatoes and coring/cutting apples. I love it!! Would definitely recommend to anyone who has this mixer. Why WOULDN'T you get this!?

I had high hopes for this expensive tool. I watched the videos, read the manual and measured (with a ruler) the squash I was trying to spiralize. Ultimately, the spiralizer mutilated the squash, made a huge mess and didn't cut much worth mentioning. It would appear that unless the fruit or vegetable is perfectly round (most aren't) this appliance will not perform as advertised. I am an experienced cook and have a graduate level education. The tolerances of this attachment should be able to accommodate less than perfectly round produce.

Got this as a Christmas present and thought that it wouldn't be worth the time and trouble to use it. Oh, I was so wrong.This is FUN to use and makes food presentation exciting. Strongly advise watching the videos once or twice. The hardest thing to learn was getting it apart after use. ENJOY.

I bought this about 1 month ago & 1st time used it to spiralize butternut squash, it wouldn't even peel and started bending attachment. The attachment will not peel regular sized potatoes either. It did spiralize zucchini fine but is extremely overpriced for what it can do. Would not spiralize harder vegetables like butternut squash.

It does many sizes for your fruits and vegetables and we have a lot of fun with it. Wish I would have bought it sooner!
