Wasn't sure if I would like it

Got it for Christmas, had seen it in the store myself and was skeptical. I was familiar with the peeler/slicer/cover design from the old fashioned hand crank one I have for apples. But spiralizer?? I questioned the usefulness of that, element think it was worth the expense. I was wrong. I do a lot of Asian cooking and some vegetables just take too long to prepare, I started putting them through the spiralizer and they cook in the same amount t of time as other vegetables now and I have the added benefit of a visually pleasing dish as well. So I started looking into uses in soups, salads, and other dishes. I use it pretty regularly now.

Another time saving addition to my mixing machine!

While I have yet to use the spiralizer blades, I have used the peeler and peel/core attachment. The attachments I used made the process of peeling or peeling and coring the mounds of apples from our tree quick and easy. Apples have been cooked, dehydrated, frozen, and made into a variety of baked goods, etc. Putting the parts together for the first time was a little confusing, but once I finally figured it out, it became a snap. Easy to put together, take apart, and clean. Now looking forward to trying the spiralizing and slicing features.

Must have attachment!

I bought this last month and used it for the first time for Thanksgiving. I made a fresh vegetable salad with zucchini and cucumbers. The attachment was easy to put on and even easier to use! Not only does it make it easier to cook healthy it does an amazing job. So glad I made this purchase.

Easy to Use

The spiralizer is easy to use and does the job for which it is made. The blade is very sharp and cuts nicely. It would be better if the extension with the blade was longer so that the vegetable/fruit etc. would not have to be cut down to a smaller size. The squash and zucchini that I used had to be cut in thirds. This made the job take longer than I liked. It would also be nice if there were blades that could produce long strips.

easy to use

The only reason I gave this 4 out of 5 stars is because I felt like the smallest spiralizer attachment is so close in size to the large that it would have made more sense to make it even smaller or just omit the large size altogether. Point being, I just wish the small spiral attachment was smaller. Otherwise, it was packaged very nicely and organized and very easy to use and clean.

Spiralizer issues

Set up is pretty easy, everything clicks into place. My first try was with a potato, I used the peeler and spiralizer; at first it was great then it stopped peeling and spiralizing. Then the potato kept spinning at the back and I couldn't get it to line up right.

Love this thing a real time-saver

I originally purchased this to speed up making apple butter where I core and slice a lot of apples. But since getting it I have been using their free PDF cookbook to make all kinds of stuff and doing things I would have never thought of like spiralize Broccoli stems and they are really good.

A huge upgrade from the plastic spiralizers

This is a nice addition to our stand mixer... it's so close to a 5 star rating, but has two flaws from my perspective. 1- The metal quality is suspect. I wish they would have used a nice solid stainless steel or maybe even cast iron for all of the pieces... they end up feeling a bit too light and somewhat cheap. Thicker / more durable metal without the plastic pieces would be much better. 2- The length of the unit is too short to accommodate most reasonably sized zuchhinis. I found I had to chop them in half to get them to fit which was somewhat of a pain.

Sorry, I returned it.

This item was returned. It would be a great appliance for a large family or a family that entertains. However, there are just two of us in this household. The amount of use vs the cost made it a "no". I get excellent use of my Kitchen Aid mixer and believe it to a necessary appliance for all cooks. The size of the family, and the amount of entertaining that they do should be a consideration when looking for the many attachments that Kitchen Aid produces.

overall, amazing product!

I bought this to help with Thanksgiving dinner. Overall, it was amazing! I loved the speed I was able to get apples ready for apple pie! I did not like that peeling potatoes didn't go so well.....but, they were small and not uniform in size, so I am sure that was part of the problem. I have used this to spiralize veggies for dinner since and loved it! I do not regret this product!
