As a pharmacist I was intrigued by this shampoo with those ingnredients sent to me to try and review by Influenster and was pleased with the results. Smell: springy with subtle menthol (the cooling ingredient in IcyHot). I’m a big fan but it may not be for everyone. The menthol is a nice nose opener/smell to wake you up in the morning Texture: gel-like, slightly runny, not overly viscous. Goes into the hair and spreads easily After feel: my only gripe. Not overly moisturizing. The hair feels a bit dry after using but it did not seem to worsen my already dry scalp st all though. Evidence: The caffeine won’t replace your cup of coffee. Unfortunately caffeine is not absorbed well topically and the minimal amount that would go into your hair will not wake you up. However! Caffeine does have some evidence to increase hair growth through increased blood flow to the skin. As a nearly 30-year old with a receding hair line this is a big plus from me. Time will tell if it’s effective but I was able to find a couple scholarly articles to support it. Menthol give yours scalp a nice cooling sensation which makes you feel clean. The smell is also a good morning spell to wake you up a little So, that awareness you feel is the menthol smell, not caffeine absorption. Overall: I like the smell. I like the formulation. My only gripe is the hair feels a little dry after. I’ll keep it at 5 stars since the dry hair feeling was just that-it didn’t worsen my dry scalp. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have two pre-teen boys and personal hygiene is not the top of their priority list if it was up to them lol. But they are getting to that age where they need to start getting into good grooming habits on their own. I like this product because it smells fresh but not overpowering, and the 2-in-1 is great for boys who want a 1 step hair washing routine. This makes their hair is soft and clean. I took off 1 star because I typically like products with natural/eco-friendly ingredients but I was glad to sample this one. We might buy this in the future on occasion because they seemed to like it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband loved it and so did I! His hair smelled so good and he said it left his hair so soft and feeling extra clean. He would buy the entire line again and also would recommend to his friends from work.

My boyfriend has this at his house and uses it often. I use it sometimes too and I have sensitive scalp and skin. I don't know exactly how much it costs but I know Dove isn't a luxury brand so it won't be expensive. I love the scent and how it lathers, it doesn't leave my skin dry or tight either which is very nice as most bottled gels tend to do that. When my son grows older I may purchase this for him as I trust the product .

The product has mint or something similar which left his head tingly-clean feeling. Due to sensitive scalp he does not like this feeling. Would not recommend due to the tingly aspect.
