3M has somehow changed the Scotch-Brite heavy duty scrub sponges. The sponges in my most recent purchase (of a 9-pack) disintegrated at a rapid rate. Have been using this product for years, but will be looking for a replacement. When companies begin making their products more profitable, their customer base will eventually dwindle. I was introduced to these great scrubbing pads by a 3M rep. He gave me a box at holiday time with a few 3M house care products. The rescue pads became my all-time favorite. All my grown children use and love them. My sister also uses them. We like the fact that they are filled with soap and each pad (2/pkg) is divided into thirds, giving you a total of 6 pads. This way you only use a 1/3 at a time. Also no rust.

I had success with the heavy duty scrubby sponge...I was working on pots and pans that had been hidden away in the back of a cabinet so that "someone" wouldn't have to hear me nagging about getting the dishes done....needless to say when I found them down there I was grossed out and worried about what kind of scrubber would even work. The scrub side of the product is dense and worked hard without scratching the service of the filthy pots...it also didn't breakdown on me...I got all the work done and still didn't have to toss the scrubber sponge. This was the first time I used a Scotch-Brite Heavy Duty sponge and I was completely happy with the outcome. Usually I purchase whatever is the most economical but this time I chose to try Scotch-Brite. The sponge held up great with all my cleaning and surpassed my expectations.With the other brands my sponge fell apart and I ended up buying replacements. I'll definitely be adding the heavy duty sponge to my growing list of Scotch-Brite products.

I clean houses for a living and sometimes I need something more abrasive than some of the cleansers I use. The Scotch Brite heavy duty scrub sponges are a necessity when I clean. I have two houses in particular where I need to use the heavy duty scrubbing sponges. One house always has coffee stains in their kitchen sink. It is not a surface that I have to worry about getting scratched up. The woman I clean for is always amazed that I get those stains out. I will continue to use the sponges for as long as I'm cleaning. Thanks!

I use either purchase this brand or another well known. Purchased the blue 6 pack recently. The top "scratch resistant blue scrub layer" started peeling off after scrubbing one fork. By the time I was done with a small dish load, the whole layer was completely off with exposed glue. Same thing happened to the second sponge in the same pack. Very disappointing. I already emailed the company. That shouldn't happen.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Scotch-Brite Heavy Duty Scrub Sponge to review, so here are my thoughts. Though I have used this product in the past, I never reviewed it. I also RARELY ever used the green scrubbing side of the sponge. I have only ever used the sponge itself and I use it with Bar Keepers Friend to either clean/polish my stainless steel double sink, or to clean my stainless steel pots. I have also used the sponge, again with Bar Keepers Friend on an old porcelain sink.

Scotch-Brite heavy duty sponges are a great companion when doing the dishes at home. They work very efficiently, especially when doing the pots and pans: They keep their shape and last much longer than any other brand. Additionally, with modern technology, I personally enjoy using the bigger yellow-side sponge, which works excellent towards any type of non-stick coated pots and pans.
