I have tried the generic diapers but they left a chemical smell to the diaper. These diapers are very soft and have a "U" shape cutout in the front for the umbilical cord. These diapers are absorbent, soft and work great with newborns.

Our son wore Swaddlers exclusively his first several months. We tried many other brands and styles, but his sensitive skin would react to everything else. I definitely recommend Swaddlers to parents of newborns- you will love the color changing so you know when your baby is even a little bit wet, and the baby will love the comfort and softness. We plan to use again with our second baby due early 2014!

So I finally switched to "Pampers" and let me tell you that I now live by this brand. From the diapers to the wipes, everything is just softer, more comfortable and extremely absorbent. I love every one of the pampers diapers. We started out with huggies with our first child because they cost a bit less, but the don't fit well at all, and they get so bulged out when they are wet that they look ridiculous to me. I really did not like them, and I recommend pampers swaddlers, or pampers cruisers to all of my friends

The hospital where I gave birth uses swaddlers. So naturally, I wanted to continue using what my babies used from the get-go. But at my baby shower we had a diaper raffle so I received many different types and brands of diapers. Once I exhausted all of those diapers, I was happy to go out and buy swaddlers. I was able to compare different brands and I was convinced that swaddlers were the one's for my babies.

These are the only diapers I will ever use for my newborns. The diapers are gentle on sensitive skin. My little girl never had diaper rash while she was in these diapers. They also kept her skin dry overnight. Highly recommend these to any new parent. It's also great that this diaper comes in bigger sizes. I love all pampers products.
