It has a normal scent to it. Luckily, you don’t need to get a prescription for it. My list of negatives isn't very long but the one that is the worst is the smell. It has a floral smell whenever I have used this. As for effectiveness it does okay. I've definitely noticed a huge improvement in my constant allergy symptoms while using Flonase. Definitely a lot more than any other over-the-counter options I've tried!
