The zipper on three out of the first six bags I used from a new box has separated causing me to have to tear the bog apart to get it open (great seal by the way). If this continues to happen, half the box of bags will be garbage after a single use. I don't remember this EVER happening in the past and I don't know what changed, but this is unacceptable. I hope S C Johnson looks into this and finds a solution.

I recently purchased more ziploc bags (we buy and use a ton). The new blue zip on the storage bag is so cheap and flimsy. I don't even mind that the bag is slightly smaller.. but the zip clip actually has popped off and the bags have also burst open. I am going to have to rethink my storage bags so I can avert disaster. Sounds like a small problem to have until you toss your fruit salad in your purse.

Boyfriend inadvertently bought the 40 count Quart size...over HALF the bags are unusable! (might be more as I've only checked half the box)The "easy to use" tab falls off, the bags don't seal, etc., etc. I've bought generic bags for years that work better than these. Will never buy "Ziploc" again, what a waste of money and time in trying to package food.

I have always used Ziploc bags and have always been very pleased with them. I recently purchased a bag of 50 Freezer Quart Slider bags and several of them will not open. I have not used the whole bag so I am not sure how many are defective. I have never had this problem before and think maybe there was just a bad run of them.

Actually, this is the second chance for Ziploc and they struck out again. This package had three bags slit side to side near the bottom. One of the bags had what look like thick black racing stripes wrapping the left side along with its slit (that didn't make it through the stripes due to their thickness, I suppose). The stripes also give of a strong "poly" odor that tainted all the bags closest to it... 10-12 of them. This is frustrating being the second time we've had a box with bags we can't use. Money wasted. Ziploc is too expensive (for bags in general) to feel good about continuing to buy them. Twice in a year is enough to call up another batter/player in our bag game.

The expandable bottom on the quart freezer bags have no advantage for me. I like freezing my bags nice and flat on a cookie sheet and these are awful. After freezing, I stood the old ones up in baskets. I have tried taping them. Too much extra work. I own 4 freezers. Go back to the others or give an option and then check the bottom line sales!

These are great kitchen necessity. High quality and don't tear or crack. Expandable at the bottom which makes it easier to fill. I use these to store fruits, vegetables, and nuts. You can carry them anywhere with you. Slider comes in handy as you can open and close hassle free. I even use these to freeze sometimes and they are great multipurpose item. I bought a box of the quart sized bags. Every single one I have used thus far seals just fine and holds the seal. The first time. Try to use the zipper tab to unseal it? The tab pops straight off leaving you stuck either forcing the bag open or slicing a hole into it - either way it isn't re-useable, as it is next to impossible to get the tab back on and working again (the one time I did, it popped off again). Save your money and just buy the regular manual zip bags (I have a box of Gallon ones I haven't touched yet... probably going to track down my receipt and just return it and not risk opening it)

I use the "slider quart size bags" for saving both new / freshly purchased & leftover food, both at room temperature and cold. Been using these for years. Recently I purchased a box of "76 slider quart size bags" and was glad I had not yet disposed of the prior no name brand's 50 slider quart size box because the design and placement of the opening for the "Ziploc 76 quart slider bags" was weird. The "ZIPLOC 76" box design & opening positions take up 3 times the horizontal shelf space versus vertical space that a properly designed box does; the box opening was in the middle of the bags instead of next to the narrow end near the slider that is easiest to grab; and overall the Ziploc 76's box design concept wastes interior space for its contents. What is the point of putting these slider quart storage bags in a useless box? And causing Ziploc customers to find an alternative storage method in order to eliminate the awkward & inconvenient box Ziploc sells them in?

As other reviewers noted, the bags do not open when sliding the slider back and forth. I have to pry the bags open with my fingernails. Also the sliders come right off the bag. Every bag has the problem. I don't know what happened to this product but the bags are totally unusable. Unfortunately I bought 96 bags which are worthless!!
