I was excited to purchase Oral-B's flagship toothbrush, but unfortunately, I am returning my second unit. I have been an Oral-B iO user for years. My previous brush was an iO5 that has worked flawlessly for as long as I have owned it. I wanted to buy the latest and greatest, "just because." My first iO10 arrived, and I used it for about a week. I prefer the intense mode, but it slowly developed a rattling in the handle that kept getting louder and louder, so I sent it back. The second brush arrived and worked great for about five weeks, but then I would remove it from the charger and try to turn it on, and nothing would happen. I would place it back on the charger, the screen would light up, and when I removed it, it would start. The moment the brush head touched my teeth, the red band would light up and the brush intensity would drop. The brush indicated I was using too much pressure, yet it was barely touching my teeth. I removed the brush, rinsed it, and turned it on, but the red band was still lit. Later that day, I followed every troubleshooting process I could from the Oral-B website with no luck. The brush would not connect to download the new firmware; I deleted the app and reinstalled it, but still nothing. The second unit is headed back to the store for a refund. It is really disappointing to experience such a faulty product from such a great brand. While troubleshooting, it seemed that I am not the only one with this type of experience with this particular model. I'm sure once they work the problems out it will be fantastic. As of September 2026
