From the front drip tray - consider the bucket's ability to drain/recycle melted ice - to the WiFi connection and scheduling via the app... everything was considered. It performs better than advertised!

Much quieter than Opal 1. But, every time I open the drawer to get ice it drips water terribly. My tray is always wet. I never had that problem with the old one. The ice bin is always wet. The old drawer was much easier to get the ice out of.

I had the older Opel version before GE took the product over. So far this 2.0 version from GE is much quieter and needs less input with the extra tank.

We really enjoy this ice maker a lot!! The only con I have is that it really goes through the distilled water quickly even if we’re not using it because the ice melts slowly in the machine.

Purchased this as a gift for my wife who is a huge fan of nugget ice. But this has quickly become the favorite appliance of the entire family. Mostly we use this ice for our water but it makes great ice for cocktails.

The ice is awesome. But the machine is kind of loud. And it squeals a lot when defrosting. It cycles through water often, and that is loud as well. But it does make yummy ice pretty quickly.

Easy to use. Steady production of soft, chewable ice. I generally fill the side tank once a day. Two adults in the household and we've not run out of ice - steady ice production, if you take out ice it starts making ice to replenish.

I’ve had this unit for about 4 months and it has worked beautifully. The app is a bit strange in that it told me immediately that I needed to descale my brand new machine. Other than that I love it.

We are loving the chewy ice. We live in a city with hard water so we have tried to use purified or distilled water whenever possible to minimize the frequency of cleanings which can be once every week or more depending upon how much we use it.

Yes, this little device makes a little noise. The more it has been used the less noise it makes, or maybe we don't hear it anymore. Regardless, this is worth every penny. We absolutely love the ice and yes I would recommend it.
